apparently Raph and X weren't at training either - perhaps they are in Darwin for some reason
Though X does have a hammy...
Yeah, I didn't mean that X should be doing the full on training thing :) - perhaps Raph was told early in the week that he wouldn't be playing and he requested a break for personal reasons - I hope their father is OK.

I am assuming that 3ser is doing the radio broadcast. Was going to get down there until I relised it was an away game against port. But should be a good game, scorps in great form and port very patchy.

Well that's wierd that you guys mention Raph and X being missing this week.

I was at Mindil Beach Markets on Thursday night and a guy walked past who looked just like X! I thought, "No couldn't be. X wouldn't be up here during the season." :?

Blow me down it must have been X. I should have stopped him and had a chat!

3ser wont be broadcasting todays match because they were in an accident, and the production crew and equipment is in cranbourne. Oh well, thankfully no one got hurt.

port 6.4
casey 2.10

terrible kicking by the scorps, should be in front at half time by the looks of it. Still they are only 3 goals down and have finished very well this year.

caught a quarter and a bit of the game (end of 1st and all of 2nd)
port playing better footy, scorps = turnover crazy. port cleaner and smarter.
even still scorps doing alright in ground ball scraps and creating opportunities

none of the saints listed players were doing all that great

Allen - playing down back, wasn't doing very well. not a lot of intensity

Gwilt - in the centre and forward a bit. looked better on ball, used his strength in close to get through traffic. kicking good

howard - can do good things but just seems to run around pointlessly half the time, looks to lack intensity and purpose at times. almost kicked a very good goal. skills by foot are good.

armo - playing tough but not getting much footy

gardiner - some clever touches & body work

rix - tried but didn't achieve much

steven - scooting around and trying but not much happened for him

bakes - on and off the bench. didn't look 100% to me, seemed slowish. knee heavily strapped

no ferg or mini
McEvoy in civvies. Goose in moonboot. Gilbo watching.

wall doing well for casey up forward.

from the bit I saw Howard was down back and middle/wing? a bit.
seemed to be doing a bit of tagging at one point. hard to figure out quite what he was doing. maybe the coach was throwing him around, not sure...

McEvoy is apparently flying up to Brissy as King has a suspect calf, he may still be right though.

So Jones Geary Ferg all made the trip, took 3 emergencies inc. McEvoy, left the Scorpions with 8 AFL listed players and 14 VFL listed, we should have won the game, Wall started Forward, and Allen Started back which proved costly as both struggled a bit, Allen more so than Wall, and the disposal of the Scorps was terrible. Should have won, but thats footy.

Anyone know what the penalty is for bringing in a player who is not named as an emergency??

Or are you allowed to change your nominated 3 emergencies by a set time before a game?

As long as you inform the opposition team and they have no qualms against it, i do not believe there are any penalties for doing this...

I know Essendon got fined years back for bringing Mercuri in late after he wasn't named, but I think the AFL changed the rules...

I also remember Essendon being fined over Robert Foster-Knight being played after not being named in the emergencies. In fact I think he played half a game of VFL football the day before the match.
