Must say we are playing a side who has won all bar 1 game of contested footy so far this year....why you would bring in an outside Fiora over a player who LAYS tackles and can goal is odd.
I do like the inclusion of Jones - hes earnt it AND he can run and tackle...he either steps up disposal wise or retires IMO.
Am dissapointed Ferg didnt get a game as another fwd option.
Id also sack John Barker FWIW.

“Yeah….nah””
Well I haven't seen any Casey games this year, but in the report for last week (or the one before) Jones got best on ground and the coach praised his skills, said he had improved remarkably.maverick wrote: How does Jones get a game before Mini?
Jones provides much more pace and defensive pressure than mini and if his skills have improved then he could be exactly what we need across half forward.
BTW, I remember when everyone on here was whingeing when Jones was dropped after winning the army award so I think he more than deserves his chance.

CJ was very good last week. Very good.
While Armo is out...2 "new" players in Geary and CJ are in.
With Armo...his TOG would appear to be limited...is he still not fir enough....or..?
He did copa big wack last week....and so another possibilty is not wanting over-load him.

lets get hammered at chalk before the game batnoe...Batnoe wrote:saints_rule23 wrote:Team Changes are:

OUT: Gehrig, R.Clarke, C.Gardiner, Armitage
Can't believe Armitage has been dropped must be injured or something!
We needed pace
Lions have a great midfield with a lot of depth and an ok backline
their forward line only have 2 talls, lets win it in the middle and give our forwards plenty of chances
will be an exciting game, we are going in with an attacking team from the middle which is good
"It's a work in progress," Lyon said.

I watched last week's game on TV, his skills are Ok and the lower standard, in a quicker, more pressured game, he just isn't good enoughJaz wrote:Well I haven't seen any Casey games this year, but in the report for last week (or the one before) Jones got best on ground and the coach praised his skills, said he had improved remarkably.maverick wrote: How does Jones get a game before Mini?

Mini deserves his chance.

I don't subscribe to this rest Armo garbage.
How many games has Rioli been rested for this year, what about Selwood, he's missed a few as well hasn't he...
Excuses, just excuses....but hey keep playing Dempster and Schneider, who would have been lucky to have an effective stat between them last week....
Absolutely spewing...
good post....aqnd fair comment re the ex sydney players........bet fergie is on the plane too.....
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

i like geary a lot. id play geary and armo every week this year. and id play clinton jones and every day id be giving him specialist kicking training. i mean there must be loads of ex players who are great kicks who would come down and spend some time with him.almighty saints wrote:Armitage out! I can't beleive it...sure;y he's better than Geary or Fiora. If we're not winning a flag lets at least pump the games into these boys. If he is injured I hope he's back soon.
just dont let nathan burke within 200 metres of him!

Most attacking side we can field from that team.
FB: J.Geary - M.Hudghton - L.Fisher
HB: J.Gram - S.Fisher - B.Goddard
C: R.Harvey - L.Hayes - L.Montagna
HF: A.Schneider - J.Koschitzke - S.Birss
FF: A.Fiora - N.Riewoldt - S.Milne
R: S.King - N.Dal Santo - L.Ball
I/C: S.Dempster - J.Blake - C.Jones - M.Gardiner
Isn't too shabby at all. This sort of game really suits the great man and I would not be surprised if we are giving our votes to the Harvey/Hayes combo post match.
