BRISBANE on Sunday !!

Post: # 570687Post Eastern »

Who's going? How many saints fans making the trip? Getting from Airport to Gabba? Taxi (pooling to make it cheaper) or Train?

I'll be there late in the week. Catching flight home at 1750 on Sunday.

Any Answers? !!

Eastern....

Mate best option would be to share a cab (save on time) if you can.

But if solo catch a Train to central (airtrain) then get a taxi/ bus to the gabba.

I'll be firing up for beer at the pub near the ground before the game if your keen.

Have a safe trip

If you want a beer before the game, just be careful which pub you drink in.
one pub very close to the Gabba has a nasty habit of rising drink prices about 1 hour before kick-off.

Most convenient and cheapest place for a beer before and after the game is at the German Club opposite the ground in Vulture St. Club prices for a beer, and a pretty good schnitzel and saukrate.

Couldn't organise driving lessons up there like you do in Melbourne? You normally get people to pay you to take you to & from games don't you?

All the best on Sunday guys, I hope it's a great match and it's very fitting Milne plays his 150th against us (after what happened in round 22, 2005). Cheers!

The German Club has got a new bar and a wider range of beers and such too. Very cheap prices too which are great if your on a budget. The Chalk (Lions Den) is nice and very modern, but drink prices are more expensive.

Got any questions, just reply in this thread.

You can get the Airtrain, information here: http://www.airtrain.com.au/ or a taxi. I'd suggest the latter if you aren't famillar with Brisbane.

I'd suggest getting into a cab straight after the game, with all the road blockages after the game it will take you 40 minutes+ to get to the airport. The game will end just before 3:50pm, and you will be out of the ground at 4:00pm. You're going to be rushing it.

If you get the train or bus to and from the Gabba on game day (if you already have a match ticket) transport is for free. Go to http://www.translink.com.au/ for more information regarding timetables. If you make your way over the Bridge at the end of the Queen Street Mall to the Cultural Centre at Southbank, regular busses depart there for Woolloongabba (Gabba). It takes about five minutes. Get the bus from the left hand side. Many people will assist you if you ask.
