I guess we only like to pot players here.

If he played a bad game we'd have a 3 page thread on him by now.

He shouts down a power forward for the night and he gets no credit.

Blake was terrific tonight. IN our top 6 players without doubt

However....Cloke and Rocca were never gonna be the ones who would win the game for them tonight..it was the Didak/Davis/Thomas/Medhurst brigade...and so it turned out.

Id have taken Rocca and Cloke to get more of the footy and have shut 2 of these blokes down instead

That's football supporters.....problem is Blake has been bad alot more times than he has been good.

Trust is earnt not given.....and most supporters don't trust having Blake in the line-up week to week cause hes just not reliable enough.

Should Blake play like he did tonight for the rest of the year.....the praise will follow.

Blake's brain in Raph's body - could we all put some money in and see if we could get this done?

I picked him early last week to match up on Cloke and he went well.

Very well in fact.

He was certainly better than Goose has been in recent weeks.

Blake is at his best if he can concentrate on stopping a player.

Yep. He did well. If he can regularly hold down a key defensive post - rather than the silly midfield tagging ones that Ross has had him for earlier in the year that will help both cover for the loss of Goose AND enable Grammy and BJ to give more of the offensive side of their games.

Blake was good, always gives 100% I admit he is not the most talented player but he is most versatile player in the AFL. worth 2 players on the bench because he can play on just about anybody.

I admire Jason Blake as a guy who has got the ABSOLUTE most out of his footballing ability to ensure he has a place in our starting 22 !!

The blake rules!! Who else can go from a midfield role to standing a key defensive post? Not many people.

Agree with the posts in this thread. Blake was one of our best for the night, comprehensively shutting down Cloke. Whilst he has limited ability, he is a valuable player in that he can play nearly every position on the ground equally well.

I don't think so. He has been in our finals teams since 2004 and he is a better footballer now that he has matured.

I think the problem is more that when Blake is good, you don't notice him. When he's bad, you do... and he gets enough negative attention on here that we probably notice him more than is actually warranted from a neutral observer.

On the balance, I still want only one of Blake or Dempster in the team (at most), and while Dempster's younger, I'd rather the devil I know.

Well at least Blake is one player that can be said to have improved under Lyon.

Blake doing a good job on Cloke at CHB allowed S Fisher to be freed up to be an attacking back.
