NDS' best game for the year
but this is the thing, out of form Dale Thomas is assigned NDS, and has his best for the year. It would seem opposition coaches are making choices on the basis that picking players who can be damaging on the rebound is the best choice for tackling the NDS factor.
Burns' sealer with 10 to go in the last was loose checking by NDS.
BUt the killer for me was 8 to go in the last 17pts down he gets the ball twice in the back 50, and jogs round like he was having a kick in the park. He COULD have straightened up and ran the corridor with only Rocca to get past. He used the ball well, yes, but took the slow safe option, not the game busting, break the oppostions hearts, champions option.

That might have had something to do with Thomas playing more midfield minutes than usual. If you play in the midfield without a tagger, chances are you're going to get the ball at some point. Dal got more ball than Thomas, more contested ball than Thomas and used the ball better than Thomas. He also kicked 2 goals to Thomas' 1. No matter which way you slice it, that matchup was a win for us.sunsaint wrote:but this is the thing, out of form Dale Thomas is assigned NDS, and has his best for the year.

Good observation.sunsaint wrote: He COULD have straightened up and ran the corridor with only Rocca to get past. He used the ball well, yes, but took the slow safe option, not the game busting, break the oppostions hearts, champions option.
Dal is certainly playing too safe this year, but he's not alone.
