Lenny Hayes last night !!

Post: # 568110Post Eastern »

I noticed Lenny attempt to throw his mouthguard into the underground carpark (through the surface) at the final siren last night. I really hope that the club highlights this to the entire playing group because it really showed me how much Lenny was/is hurting because of the loss. I'm not so sure that ALL of our list are/were hurting as much as Lenny !!

very true.

i think there would be about 5 players who hurt after a loss and the rest just go home and relax and use the rest of the weekend to spend their "hard earned"

friggin legend is this bloke.
absolute god dam legend.

hopefully this bloke takes a leaf from harvs book and sees out his playing days with us.

im not actually sure that the rest of the playing goup give as much as lenny does (with a few exceptions of course).
it must be really really frustrating to bust ya ass all night and then get done like that.
head up lenny 8-) 8-) 8-)

Missed two sitters. We lost by nine points. I think I know why he did what he did after the game and it wasn't because of the efforts of his teammates.

Hero worship is fine, just don't pass it off as performance analysis.

We have too many players who don't honour the Red, White and Black. Really, we need players who will put 110% in every week to win like Lenny and Harves, but don't. It's hard to see them unhappy about the loss because of other teammates efforts.

I too can see the frustrations. Was definately a game that could have gone either way. I gather Hayes' frustrations were due to a missed opportunity. Totally understand.

Missed two sitters - two goals would have been an improvement.

In many ways Lenny was very good last night.

But his game in iteself also summed our night...

We won plently of ball
We tackled well
We passed poorly into the forward line
We missed some sitters at goal

Now Lenny is one of few genuine star players...but last night his game had some flaws that it should not.

buckley shot on goal with 60% accuracy

10 games like that a year, in a winning team, and he'll be our next brownlow medallist

Very very true it was one of those losses where some of the players reactions replicated that of a finals loss.

*lennys mouthguard throw
*BJ pulling his hair out almost in tears
*Maxy was bloddy livid

Very sad, but very true.

That goal was a gimme.

Why, oh why does a professional football - a star of the competition - feel the need to kick a banana from 30m out - directly in front with an open goal??

I realise he was running diagonally across from the goalmouth, but why not have a shot with his left foot? Ive seen him in previous years kick very surely with his left. Why not now?

Do we have footage or a picture of this incident.

Seasoning defining.
