yeah, it was more attacking tonightLENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:why's that dud?The_Dud wrote:would be a shame
Ross is to blame in my opinion
I thought Ross was pretty attacking tonight
still tho, has not used him smartly at all during the year
If Ross had have told him this was how we were gonna play at the strat of the year, i doubt he would have come back

Gehrig should never be running around on the wing and in the backline
Ross has played him out of position all year
should be told to rarely leave the forward 50, and never go further than the center square
play him ONE OUT in the goal square

The reason G has struggled is the lack of quality ball through the middle. And this is Lyon's fault how? Richmond smashed us by a world record in contested ball. Our run from half back has disappeared (Gram's been worked out), midfield leg speed is unknown and we butcher the pill so often that no big forward has a snow flake's hope in Hades.

if we had a fast attacking gameplan, how many players and coaches would be willing to leave Gehrig all alone in the forward line?LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:And when his player runs up the ground off him and kicks a goal what then dud?The_Dud wrote:Gehrig should never be running around on the wing and in the backline

so nothings been said?
he hasnt retired at all?
last fortnight it was arthritis in his hands and now the whole body has gone??
pffft....
so he came back to the club basicaly unfit and no good, and we accepted him.???
what the hell were the coaching staff thinking then.
becasue there is no way he all of a sudden (in 7 odd weeks) has just completely lost it all

The club took for pick 457 so nothing much lost - it was worth a punt. It didnt work so we move on. The biggest dissapointment is for Gehrig cause hed be feeling it for his reputation and all but no shame for him....the game has passed many by.However, there's still one running round at 36 that amazes me weekly.....

F*** me dead, Im sick of hearing, Gehrig is finished, the game has passed him, blah blah blah.
Bulls$ite...!!
If Ross implements a fast ATTACKING gamestyle, where the forwards could lead into a OPEN forward line, where the kicks were to the FAT side, then he would be kicking a crapload of goals.
Doesn't anyone remember the quiet games G-train had in the 04,05,06 years when other teams "flooded" back. Take a look at the games where he bagged 5+ goals, checked how many were on a lead and get back to me.
Pitty our coach cannot see it, yet others can.

Did other teams run off and exploit his ground ball deficiencies as much as they do now?lefty wrote:F*** me dead, Im sick of hearing, Gehrig is finished, the game has passed him, blah blah blah.
