With all due respect Dan, if you're not interested, don't open the thread.

It's pretty clear what the subject is, and it's pretty clear the responses it would generate.

There are issues around this court case that are more important than Thomas or Butterss. They're gone. However, the issues relating to how the club is being run and the judgement of our CEO are certainly something all St Kilda supporters should be interested in.

I just can't believe the nerve of this guy.

We paid him $525k plus expenses per annum.
That's about double what the Prime Minister gets.
He claims he has RW&B blood, would never go anywhere else etc.

Then hounds the club, including the new administration whith whom he shouldn't have any personal issues, through the courts to claim additional benefits.

If we had withheld big chunks of his payment on technicalities I could understand.
But he is chasing this extra money on top of $525k.

Personally I hope at the end of this case he gets nothing !
other than make himself totally unemployable.

The case is entirely about withholding large chunks of payment on technicalities.

Well, there's bleeding for the club, then there's $250k plus. I love the club, I pay my membership, my partner's membership, my son's membership... but if the club owed me $250k, I'd sue the place too. There's bleeding for the club, and then there's amputation of key limbs for the club.

It'll be interesting to see what the court makes of the "hush money" situation, but as far as I can tell, they're up s*** creek as far as statutory entitlements go.

I'm very interesting in the whole 'hush money' thing.

What were they worried about him saying?

$100,000 is alot of 'member's money' to be splashing around.

I'm really interesting in this.

I still don't understand why there was a need for "hush money" in the first place.

You sign an agreement for someone to shut up, then you withhold payment of salaries, launch legal action against him and then make some of the most damning claims you could make against an ex-coach on morning radio.

It sounds to me like they wanted him to talk.

What I also don't understand, if the agreement was for him to shut up and not talk to anyone at the club and you're claiming he did the complete opposite, why then offer to pay him the money anyway?

IMO the club tried to bundle all outstanding liabilities into an agreement that they thought they could get him to break.

On the morning he was sacked, a hand-written agreement was reached between Thomas and the club. St Kilda paid him $270,000 — six months worth of his salary
You'd think 6 months worth of salary would more than suffice.... happy with whatever the courts decide, but I would hardly feel short changed.

And did yesterday too from what was posted here. Had an exchange with GT also.

I would've liked to have gone, but you know, having a job and all makes it quite hard.

Would be interesting viewing.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Andrew's last name wouldn't be Hoare by any chance?

Or should that be Whore? :?

well that explains it

he obviously missed his chance in life to make anything of it...potentially assist the club he apparently loves to become bigger and stronger

instead it is easier to point out any wrong-doing or problem that anyone in power has ever made at that club

poor man...made nothing of his life

may as well give it up now

C'mon mate... not for me or you obviously, but then some people play with model trains or play the pokies in their free time... I guess at a stretch you could say it's a bit of StKilda history being made.
