What a joke

Post: # 564437Post LENNY LEADS THE WAY »

Hope there isn't already a thread on this i didn't notice 1.

All i can say about the channel 10 concept of strappind cameras to the field umpires and goal umpires is what a pathetis joke, just ridiciolous.

Just let me watch the footy and watch the contests i don't wanna look at blades of grass as the ump bounces it.

The conept fell flat on it's ass if u ask me

Nothing wrong with experimenting.

Thats how we all learn.

Great idea but in practice the umpire cam adds nothing IMO. But the goal cam wasn't bad.

Credit to the station for trying some new innovations.

I tend to agree. The umpire cams were good in theory but didn't work as well as intended. However, I really liked the new angle (no pun intended) that the goalpost cam brought to the game. No-one kicked a ball into it which was a little disappointing...

the goal post cam needs to be put higher so you can see the ball soaring through in the last qtr you had to watch the palyers reaction to see if it was a goal or not

Exactly right how annoying was that

Had to laugh though everytime they would cross to Mark Williams the vics would kick a goal and he would try his best not to lose it but u could just hear the tension in his voice hehe

Yeah, goal cam was okay. Needs to be higher up though.

Fat cam on the umps was a sheer waste of time and space.

When they bounced the ball, and the camera would go forwards and backwards fast... I got dizzy. Yucky.

man didnt the goal umpires and the runners look a treat with all that gear strapped to their stomachs...

I think the goal post cam worked okay but agree it need to be higher up. The field umpire cam was okay until he bounced the ball when you couldnt see anything. At one stage i felt sick watching the umpire run around as well, but cant help that really.

Good that they tried it and im sure they'll go away and come back with some better ideas.

the problem is that the umpire can't yet refer to the goal cam so it is not helping us get better decisions, so why bother with it at all.

as for the umpire cam..a really really stupid concept.

I thought the interchange cam might be a handy addition to the coverage, not sure about the goal cam, other than that the coverage was CRAP. How bad were those chats with the coaches!

Yes the umpire concept was stupid and looked stupid.

But the goal cam im guessing was used to get the viewers at home on the couch into the game further rather than a goal referal tool.

Needed to be higher. I was at the game and when J.Brown snaped that goal at the city end you got a good shot right until the ball went through the sticks. Just needed some work.
