You would have to be joking, and who gives him these so called wraps. Only Saints fans that know how good he is. He would have to be one of our most constantly good players.gooner wrote:Maxy Hudgton constantly gets big wraps without really showing any form.
Constantly playing taller than you really are, playing from behind and spoiling without giving away frees, keeping so called gun forwards to zero goals.
I mean, come on Max show some form!

well no one has been burnt for mentioning kosi, so here goes...nick reiwoldt - not a confident kicker - tries hard, runs all day, but becoming a bit richo like (not the richo of these last few weeks unfortunately). Fades in and out of games - not a player to win games - would be much better for the team not to rely on him so heavily. The word 'champion' should not apply, compare him to carey, voss, harvs, grant, hird, buckley, archer - champions! And i'd prefer buddy in my team - he's not yet a champion but should become one!

I believe that's what you call sarcasm.
Tarrant used to be overrated but seriously, who actually rates him anymore?
Goodes in my eyes is overrated, only because i do not see how he has won as many brownlows as Harvs, and then you compare him to a player like West whos never won one. Both he and Harvs are so far above Goodes imo... but then again, i really do dislike Goodes so maybe im just biased both ways.

The people at Freo still rate Tarrant highly, going by the ammount they are paying him !!milney044 wrote:I believe that's what you call sarcasm.

Yes, indeed I was, as you say, "joking." So glad you spotted it, it was very cleverly disguised.Saint Bev wrote:You would have to be joking, and who gives him these so called wraps. You see, I was taking a view that is an exagerrated opposite of percieved reality to highlight the fact that Maxy is an underated player.
It is commonly referred to as irony.
Next week on The Gooner's Guide To The English Language we will be discussing sophistry.

Some good ones here when i read this one on Goodes it surprised me but explaining it as you did you probably have a point. Having trouble agreeing with Daniel Kerr and Buddy Franklin. Definately agree with Mooney , Josh Fraser and Leon Davis i'll also add Dustin Fletcher and Travis Cloakemilney044 wrote:I believe that's what you call sarcasm.

Franklin is a gun but until he learns to kick and not give away pointless free kicks he isn't the stand out best player in the comp like everyone is saying.
Half of Geelong's side has been incredibly over rated. Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Ling etc make up an unstoppable midfield and from there all you need is an above average defence and a reasonable forward line and you've got a premiership side. But the media now believes that the likes of Mooney, Kelly, Mackie, Stokes and Enright are all elite players as well.
And yes, most of our side is over rated. Dal Santo and Koschitzke have been nothing more than GOPs this year.

The other three I agree.saint edward wrote:Like a few before me it is hard to go past tarrant doesnt look happy/settled at the dockers.
Also i may get shot down for this but buddy franklin in a way. He deserves most of the accolades he recieves but his kicking lest him down and i wouldnt be playing him up to be one of the top players of the comp when he is only young and obviously shaky at sometimes.
Also ....
* the Carr brothers
Josh is a GUN....Noone rates Matthew
* Daniel Kerr
Obviously don't watch football outside of this state.

My mate (Pie supporter) told me another pie supporter in the crowd once yelled that they should trade Josh Fraser for a slab.

Josh can be good but is rated like a player who is consistant week in week out and IMO he isn't
Daniel Kerr is past it and is still rated higher than players who are at there peak.

By whom? All we ever hear around here is how crap he is. BF threads always call him a soft frontrunner. The only media articles on him this year have been ones by Walls and Sheehan ripping him for his lazy, unaccountable play and cheap touches against the Dogs. Sheehan also had him in his top-20 pre-season, but then changed his mind and said he'd rated Dal 'way, way too high'. So once again, who's overrating him?mightysainters wrote:Dal Santo is also very overrated...
We have overrated players at this club. Dal Santo isn't one of them. If anything, Dal is underrated, because people focus completely on what he doesn't do. Same with Luke Ball. Both those guys have played at an extremely high level for several years now, but the things they actually do are never appreciated.
Yeah nah pleasing positive
