Anyone remember Barry Hills???
I've known Barry for a little while now, he's Paul Hills (Essendon Premiership player) older brother. Barry says he played 6 games for the Saints around the Rod Owen era. I have no reason to doubt him but I can't remember him or find any records.
Apparently a bit of a wild era for a young Saint down at Moorabbin, especially for one under Rocket's wing, from all accounts.
Can anyone on here remember him or help me find some records of his playing career with the Saints?
Please, some older posters, can you shed any light on this?
I've tried The Peanut but he's at a loss, none of his records have Barry in them. He did say there may be a gap or some omissions for varying reasons.

Re: Anyone remember Barry Hills???
According to the list on the thread about 'How many played for the Saints', no Barry Hills played 6 games. Maybe he played in the reserves?Ghost Like wrote:I've known Barry for a little while now, he's Paul Hills (Essendon Premiership player) older brother. He is definitely not one of the 1522 players that have played in the StK seniors.
But he may have played those games in the reserves ?

I pulled out a few old foot records from that era mid 80s to early 90s.
Couldn't see his name.
But even in that era, reserve players were coming on and off the list on a weekly basis.
But the club would have records on this.
Contact Russell Holmesby.

The transit Police stretching the truth. Gee, thats a surprise.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."
6 senior games? perhaps he played u19s or reserves?
anyway GL to him, must have been awesome
I was chatting to a guy who played 1 game for Melbourne and he said he just ran around like a headless chook and was completely lost on the MCG, couldn't find his man, was completely dissoriented etc, nice guy and reasonably smart, runs a small business, but there you go.

Seems like a definitive answer from someone who knows what he's talking aboutosama milne laden wrote:came down from ballarat 1982, went to the same school as rod owen and was in junior development squad - played in the under 19s
i've seen him on the news a few times lately in his work for the transit police
Do people (DW, B2P)not read what's posted before them?
Win it for HIM!
