NAB Cup Stats:meher baba wrote:Great. But is he any good?
Grand Final (Playing as a key defender):
5 Kicks, 3 Handballs, 3 Marks
Round 3:
5 Kicks, 2 Handballs, 2 Marks, 3 Tackles
Round 2:
Kicks 2, Handballs 7, 2 Marks, 1 Goal
Round 1:
3 Marks, 3 Kicks, 2 Goals + 1 Behind, 2 Handballs
VFL 2008:
1 Goal, 3 Goals, 1 Goal, 6 Goals in first four rounds
TAC Cup 2006:
Was leading goalkicker with something like 69 goals for Calder Cannons. Named at CHF for team of the year.
Also played a very good practise match against Kangaroos last preseason, last year was sidetracked with an elbow (?) injury.
Those stats in the NAB cup dont really give him the credit he deserves. He pressured well and took a number of very strong contested marks.
Could surprise and kick 4-5 goals however 1-2 would be acceptable if he was to be selected.
clever reader of the play, good contested mark and pretty safe kick for goal. Thing that has improved has been his work below his knees, has kicked quite a few roving the pack

I think you will find it is because 2 of them, Allen and Conners havent played for 2 weeks. Not sure about Geary though.sainters man wrote:Last Tuesday at training, Allen,Geary and Connors got flogged at training! they were doing there own little activities and when everyone finished up and went in..they were still running
so i recon there close on selection

Given that Eljay is probalby the least likely of our Rookies to get elevated it would be a little difficult for him to be selected in the senior team.sainters man wrote:Last Tuesday at training, Allen,Geary and Connors got flogged at training! they were doing there own little activities and when everyone finished up and went in..they were still running

Eljay was pick 70 in the main draft. So he is already on the senior list.Mr Magic wrote:Given that Eljay is probalby the least likely of our Rookies to get elevated it would be a little difficult for him to be selected in the senior team.sainters man wrote:Last Tuesday at training, Allen,Geary and Connors got flogged at training! they were doing there own little activities and when everyone finished up and went in..they were still running

However he would not be up for senior selection at present.
There are far better options.
He is extremely young and skinny...and needs to build up. He was never an option for this year.

so how heavy is eljayEastern wrote:Have they finished making those special shorts for Eljay yet. You know, the ones with the special pockets to slide the weights into so he doesn't get blown away in the wind. There were jockeys at the Warnambool Carnival last week who would be heavier than our Eljay !!

Eljay Connors 181cm 65kg!!!
Would only play him at TD under the roof. Would get blown away if he played outdoors.

There must be something wrong with the scales. Eljay would be no more than 55kg wringing wet . But, by the time we have finished pumping the suplements into him he will resemble the incredible hulk !!st.byron wrote:according to the club website.saints11 wrote:so how heavy is eljayEastern wrote:Have they finished making those special shorts for Eljay yet.
