Were 5th

Post: # 561347Post woooosaints »

Enough of this doom and gloom talk about writing off our season maguire and baker are hardly any losses and riewoldt out of the team makes our team less predictable and gives other the chance to step up its obvious he would of been battling a injury all year. Were 5th on the ladder should concentrate on beating collingwood on friday night

'concentrate on beating collingwood on friday night'

Post: # 561388Post Megamaguire »

Yes the guys played the 'TEAM' game with guts and enough belief to put the mocka on the tiges. Milney was fantastic with his output and finishing. Goddard should have nailed his chance for a six-pointer in the last Qrt. He is a better kick than that and the team needs to start converting from the midfield more regularly. Grammy looks out of sorts as does Dal Santo.
Overall a very positive response from the players.

5th. on the ladder is no disgrace and it is a real reminder of the springboard the players can give themselves if they can step into Collingwood next.

KEEP POSITIVE SAINTS

NAIL "EM SAINTS

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

5th is a great place to be. Now we just have to keep winning and head for that top 4. No reason why we can't do it, but we need to find form and fast. We are still way too fragile. But sitting in 5th is certainly a lot better than what we were last week :)

But is it a mistake in spelling, punctuation or grammar?! Which police should have authority over this?

Roo is a big loss, but Maguire and Bakes less so. Goose wasn't contributing, and Baker isn't top 15 on pour list IMO. Unless we need a strong tag in the backline, we can live without him.

Some might agree that the game might have past Baker. It was popular belief that when he received his 7 week suspension that he may find it hard to re-intorduce himself into modern AFL with his style of play.

He is a true clubman and so we should all wait and see what is the next chapter in the career of Bakes.

I think that the argument regarding Maguire is flawed. Just because Maguire wasn't 'contributing' in accordance with his previous known stanard didn't mean he wasn't an integral part of a sucessful 08 campaign.

At his peak he is a bullocking, run straight at the ball, CHB, who could take on the oppostions big forwards. Why wouldn't you wan't that.

Is ther any point in being better than everyone else at Rd8?

What we've shown, is that our best footy matches the teams leading the way.

Come September, we need to have won enough games (doesn't matter how or who) to be i nthe 8.

Once in the 8 in September, then you need to be better than the rest.

But now? Let's just be content with the wins and the fact that we're winning whilst playing average footy.

We have so much talent on our list.

Yeah exactly!

I think that the club shrink would be placing focus on this very point at each daily councelling meeting.

The club is 5th and still got loads of improvement. It's got to be all upside, hey doc?
