An understatement!!!
The curse continues
Have to play the Geary's,Allen's,Eddy's,McEnvoy's and Ferguson's now.
Never take a backward step even to gain momentum.....

Possibly career ending injuries, for both. Terrible news, especially feel for Goose.
Takes a while to get back to form from serious injuries, makes it even worse that he hasn't played much since '06.
If he came back in '09, you couldn't expect him to hit any form till late 2009 or early 2010, and thats assuming he has a perfect road to recovery.
Bakes appeared to have lost some speed, and a year out with a knee injury won't help. Will be nearing 30 by the time he gets back, and if we don't have a great year this year, will their be enough incentive to play on.

It's frustrating for us but imagine the devistation for the players. All this work from goose to get back on track, bakes spending 7 weeks on the sidelines aching to get back in the action and now they're both out for the year. It would be shattering for any player to go through, let alone these two. Hang in there guys, all the best.
Destiny. It's in our hands.
Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.

I hope that now we have a few out injured, Ross and his match committee take some risks in the short term and play the kids. Allen has been in form in the 2's and could take Maguires spot and Geary can come in for Bakes... certainly not all doom and gloom. Find is frustrating to see that Armo has been the only one to be given a chance.Moorabbin Saints wrote:Maguire - Breaks in his foot. Season.
Baker - Just forgot but 10 weeks+.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
For the sake of the future, McEvoy MUST come in ahead of Rix if anything untoward happens to our usual rucks.

Sadly, I think he is.saintsrus wrote:you cant be seriousSpinner wrote:How did Baker injure himself?
Does he have grounds to sue the AFL for that bulshit decision, forcing him to miss 5 weeks and thus not be as physically fit as the rest of the AFL....Which led to serious injury?????

Not the end of the world. Goose has struggled big time, and I think the game may have passed his physical style by while on the sidelines. Was always a few steps behind since returning, and we can't afford that at the moment, especially with our game style. Bakes...hmmmm....can play a blinder, but too slow to go in the midfield anymore. Doesn't get a lot himself...maybe it is time to play the kids, and see what they've got.

That is a shame, two blokes that always give their all, this is upsetting
4 forced outs already, we really can't afford for Kosi to get suspended

While it's shocking news for the players, I don't think it will hurt the team much, if at all.
Goose hasn't been up to AFL level since 2005 and we're probably better off playing Geary than Bakes. The Gilbert injury is looking quite costly, but it also gives a chance for Ferguson or Gwilt to have a go in the seniors.

We will now potentialy have no:
Kosi - if charge holds up
Roo
Goose
Max
X-Man
Baker
Now the challenge is there for the players who remain to show what they are made of.
We still have a more than capable midfield
No an unpredictable forward line.
And most of all the opportunity for new inclusions to make a name for themselves.
