GT Versus RL

Post: # 560230Post ace »

St Kilda has beaten Richmond in their last 10 meetings.
7 under Grant Thomas with an average margin of 60 points.
3 under Ross Lyon with an average margin of 10 points.
Ross Lyon had an injury list ahead of this match that Grant Thomas would have died for.
Grant Thomas may have been out coached often, but Ross Lyon can't coach.

well at least he can't get the players to follow his game plan, after 18 months or so.

how bout "GT versus AJ"?

Jeans won a premiership with only 20 players in the team, and Thomas couldn't even do it with 22!

thomas is gone, don't want him back, don't expect him back.

Unless there is a dramatic turn around in the next few weeks in the way we are playing, we'll be struggling to make the finals, let alone win a flag.

Good topic. Just thinking about it we may have done this before. Also maybe Richmond are improving.

Richmond ARE improving a lot, also Richo is way more effective playing up the ground (albiet often unmanned - ploise explain Rossy!).

GT vs RL

One thinks Banger is a has been (has seen the "signs") that elude the rest of us". One does not.

One would have traded Milne...the other wants him
One is suing the club....the other is not.

He got no kicks on his own on the wing - the correct thing was to leave him there and hope that Richmond left him there. They were hoping we would fall for the trap and put Riewoldt on him. He had absolutely no influence on the game in that position. Unfortunately, they eventually woke up and moved him to FF where he kicked five goals.

GT is fat, RL is not
GT had 5 years RL has had 1.25 years
GT was paid 500K+ RL is not
GT wants an extra $200k for holiday pay and will bleed the club to get it, RL does not
GT stifled the development whole footy department RL has not
GT recuited and managed player development poorly, RL does not control these areas

Big Deal. The greatest coach of recent times is clearly Timmy Watson.

Perfect record against Port (Rnd in 1999 (62points) and rnd 11 in 2000 (62points again - ooh that's creepy isn't it?). Port are our bogey and our benchmark and if you want to make comparisons you make them up the top. Beating Richmond is nothing - FFS we did it 2 players short last night.

Show me another saints coach that can claim that and we can start discussing.

makes you wish you had a guy like blake in the team to go with him and makes you wonder whether riewoldt would be similarly effective in a similar role

GT has brown hair.

RL has black hair.

Therefore RL is a better golf player.

I'm a lapsed Watsonist. The gospel according to Delaney convinced me to let go.
