Winning another close one
4 in a row during the NAB cup
Tonight as well.
Could it be - even remotely - that Lyon has instilled at least one useful tactic in the playing group?

I think they've managed to maintain their composure in close finishes. Lock up games at the right time and maintain posession.bigcarl wrote:what are the others?cowboy18 wrote:Could it be - even remotely - that Lyon has instilled at least one useful tactic in the playing group?
"At least one" means one or more!
PS - My perception of the game comes from watching the score update on afl.com and the odd snoop at sensational. Many argue that this isn't ideal to make any insightful contributions. It's more of an observation than anything.
Apologies to all the coach haters out there

well i was getting used to richmond being a percentage-booster. i guess they've improved a bit though, while we have treaded water at best.cowboy18 wrote:I think they've managed to maintain their composure in close finishes. richo played the type of game that riewoldt is capable if given a licence to run rather than being shackled and triple-teamed in the forward line.
perhaps when he gets back from this injury it is something that might be considered ...

Well, no. Richmond had 3 chances to win in the dying stages, Brown hit the post, Hyde hit the post, Riewoldt didn't make the distance.cowboy18 wrote:4 in a row during the NAB cup

3 Bloody chances in the last few minutes..
We didn't deserve to win.
All tonight proved, was that we aren't anywhere near good enough to win a flag this year.
And carrying players like Gehrig, only makes it worse.

Hate to say it but if Rooy is available next game that was G last game.Saintschampions08 wrote:Well, no. Richmond had 3 chances to win in the dying stages, Brown hit the post, Hyde hit the post, Riewoldt didn't make the distance.cowboy18 wrote:4 in a row during the NAB cup

I still don't understand the reasoning in why he was selected for this game.plugger66 wrote:Hate to say it but if Rooy is available next game that was G last game.Saintschampions08 wrote:Well, no. You don't drop a Full Forward, only to return him to the team after he kicks 0.1 in the VFL.

Re: Winning another close one
well he was averaging five a game against richmond since 2003 before tonight, so i guess that was the thinking behind it.Saintschampions08 wrote:I still don't understand the reasoning in why he was selected for this game.plugger66 wrote:Hate to say it but if Rooy is available next game that was G last game.Saintschampions08 wrote:Well, no. Very good win Tigers are up and about at the moment and we are still in second gear. As for the G Train still had some handy touches and when the ball moved with some fluency lead up well. He and Kosi might have to hold the fort if Roo misses a few. Thought Bally was fantastid the sort of work you dont get stats for but are crucial to a win.

Lynch would have struggled in today's style of game....Dan Warna wrote:FG was huffing and puffing aroud the wing 1/2 the game >< people say lynch but thats not the way brisbane played lynch.
if FG is expected to run around the wing, then he is finished.
it has changed again so much in the last 2 years.......
run run run from defense etc
Lynch/gtrain/A. Rocca....will/would strugle under current style.
