Talent v Tactics

Post: # 559345Post perfectionist »

A lot has been written about the "new" tactics that Hawthorn are using. I went to their game today against Collingwood and the difference wasn't tactics, it was talent.

So tonight, we should do the same. If we believe we are better than the opposition, which we are tonight, we should simply go man on man no matter what they do. If we win the contested ball through talent, we will win, as Richmond isn't good enough to fully capitalise on our mistakes. Of course, it would be nice if we reduced our mistake level by 90%, just for tonight.

simple isn't it?

move the ball quickly, play man on man

pity thats basically the exact opposite of our gameplan

Yes they do. They only zone on certain plays. At the centre bounce or around stoppages, they are man on man. If the opposition sends a spare man to the defence they run with him.
