Rounds 1-11 vs Rounds 12-22

Post: # 556438Post Beno88 »

Since our amazing start to the 2004 season, our first halves of the season have been pretty ordinary compared to the second half.

Rounds 1-11
2005 : 5 wins, 6 losses, 104.4%
2006 : 6 wins, 5 losses, 113.7%
2007 : 4 wins, 7 losses, 85.15%

Rounds 12-22
2005 : 9 wins, 2 losses, 168.9%
2006 : 8 wins, 3 losses, 123.0%
2007 : 7.5 wins, 3.5 losses, 107.6%

So over that three year period, in Rounds 1-11 we've won 15 out of 33 at an average of 5 wins and an average percentage of 100.7.

While in Rounds 12-22, we've won 24.5 out of 33 with a percentage of 131.2.

The concerning thing about 2008 is, 9 of our first 11 games are at Telstra Dome, where as in the previous three years, no more than 6 of the opening 11 games have been at the dome which has possibly contributed to the poor starts.

The funny thing is, if we win three of the next five, we'll be in the best position we've been in after 11 Rounds since 2004.

This is just a random analysis...But I always remember as a boy that our second half of the year was always the strongest....Maybe a culture thing.

The exception maybe was 2008. In which we started off fantastically....But ended s***.

Hope we turn it around.

Weren't the Cats 3 and 3 this time last year???

Spark anyone?

for most of those years we had crippling injuries in the first half the season

in 08, we are fielding close to the best team available for about 1/2 a decade.

probably only goddard, maguire and baker lack match conditioning.

I think you mean 1998. In 2008 we started off medicore & will most likely end mediocore
