Sam Fisher...
Does anybody think that this week he could be freed up into a "loose man" role with freedom to roam around the ground? Goose should take Tredrea, and Max will take Westhoff; and Port don't really have any other tall forwards...
I think Chips' ball use and ability to run with the ball could be handy if he was released up the ground a bit.

Agree. If that eventuates, both players have the potential to be enormously dangerous running from half back. Both could easily end up with 25+ touches...matrixcutter wrote:surely sometime during the game we will see chips loose in the back line and chad cornes loose in theirs.....

i thought about this earlier and was sure it would happen sometime during the game...im now not so sure.
leaving cornes loose anywhere is dangerous, he needs to be made accountable.
its great having BJ back as well, both him and chips play that loose man sweeper across the back line so well.
great readers of the play.
gonna be a tough game this week...
my one game a year live......cant wait

Surely Max would go to Tredrea and Goose to Westhoff?
Goose is still getting back into the swing of things and as yet doesnt have the power in his legs and core to go one on one with Tredders. Westhoff, while still tall and strong, is nowhere near as powerful as the big fella.
Max is a seasoned professional. An expert. He rarely gets beaten by anyone. The biggest blokes included.

My reasoning was that Westhoff has more run in his legs and is quicker over a short distance than Tredrea. As Max has tremendous closing speed, I think he'd be suited to Westhoff's lead-up style.

Absolutely 100% true.Mr Magic wrote:As important as it is to free Sam up, I believe it is more important to 'free up' BJ.
Even under pressure, he's a superb user of the footy, but when let loose, he is lethal from 0-55 metres.
He is our quarterback. He doesn't just bomb it like Gram, who I'm now convinced is probably better suited to a position on the wing.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
Dont mind Sam Fisher playing back and having a man, would rather Gramm played up the ground and avoid being accountable for someone inside the 50, he needs to get the ball in his hands and get confidence.
Goose on Tredrea, Max on Westhoff I think.
Blake to play on Chad Cornes, Forward tagger if you like, can follow him into the middle as well.

Goddard will play HB so he will only play on Cornes if he is HF. They will not put him on the ball for a few more weeks IMO.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:goddard on cornes???
make cornes more accountable???
posibility...the only thing tha might hold that back is goddard coming back from the knee...however he has not really shown any signs of taking it easy
it looks like a textbook come back from the great bj
