Gilbo- long term injury list??

Post: # 553196Post dcstkfc »

Read he's gonna be out for two months. Anyone we'd consider promoting, e.g. Mini, LVR?

Between 6-8 weeks so I dont they would put him LTI list.

8 games is the minimum that you can out on the LTI...and he could possibly be back in 5 games (remember that there is a bye on Mothers Day weekend).

In amongst those who know a bit about footy & St Kilda on this thread and those who know SFA there are a few things we need to consider here;

Gilbo is listed as being out for 6-8 weeks. To go on to the LTI list you need to be out for AT LEAST 8 weeks. This needs to be confirmed by a doctor.

If we are to promote a player off the rookie list, that player needs to be in a position to leap frog over those on the primary list who are not getting a senior game

There would be a cost associated with promoting a rookie. In both real dollar terms and TPP terms.

I'm sure those at the club who are in a position to make such decisions have a whole lot more info at hand than any of us on here !!

Why on earth would we promote a rookie (regardless of whether we can or not) when there are heaps of guys who deserve a go in the 2nds?

I can’t see why there are continuous calls for Rookie promotions and demotions at the drop of a hat. I see one of the issues that our players have been forced to contend with over the past few years is getting match experience in playing together - as a team. They have been forced to play within different mixes weekly due to our bad run with injuries.

Watching Geelong it seemed apparent to me that each player knew exactly what their team-mates were doing and what they were. This is probably partly to do with the umpteen games they have been fortunate to experience together as a basic mix, hence, knowing what their teammates are up to is second nature. This is one of the stand-outs that make each individual player and the team look better than the others.

I would just like it explained to me what advantage there is by continually making changes to the list throughout the whole year just on the whim of an idea. Sure, continually tweaking the team is important but …

Gilbert wont be put on the Long term Injury list. He'll be back firing in 5 weeks. And I really hope that he is playing forward of centre this time.

Sam Gilbert you are an EXCITEMENT MACHINE!

We went through this last year, you only promote a rookie if they are going to play THE WEEK YOU PROMOTE them otherwise it's a waste of time and money.

With gilbo's skinny frame it sort of only seemed a matter of time before he did something like this.

They wont be elevating any rookies because he wont be put on the LTI list, th onyl side that will be elevating someone will be the dees for neita.
