This come up in conversation?????
I'm not saying we should or it will happen BUT!!
With all the talk of J. Brown returning to Vic in 2009 would it be a simple straight swap for ROO to get him or would we need to give a little more.
The blokes I was with, Brisbane blokes mind you think it would not get the job done with a striaght swap.
I said I would not give anymore than ROO if it was to happen.
Is there a loser in this trade if it was a striaght swap.
I love ROOEY but if I was to give him up for one player it would be J.Brown and I would only do this because of the Gold Coast threat in the Future.
I feel bad even thinking of it but it did come up over the weekend

As you should. You should stick with our players - except for Sam Gilbert - who we should send back home for Brown (Brisbane might have a brain fade).Saint Mik wrote: I feel bad even thinking of it but it did come up over the weekend

Brown is too much like Kosi - big pack marks, inspirational stuff etc.
Roo's workrate and engine is freakish, which neither Kosi or Brown are even close to having. Roo is so much more valuable working in a forward group, where Brown is better one out.
It's obvious even now that Brown isn't having the season everyone expected because of the impact Bradshaw is having closer to goal.
IF, and a massive IF, Roo did say he wanted to go home to mummy and daddy like Judd, then Brown is the absolute minimum we'd ask for, short of a couple of top 5 picks, which i can't see brisbane getting in the next couple of years anyway.

And J. Brown has some injuries concerns. Having seen him play a few times at the Gabba, I am not sure about those stress fractures in his lower back. Sometimes he seems unable/reluctant to jump.
Most people achieved their greatest success one step beyond what looked like their greatest failure.

Wouldn't trade Roo in a straight swap for any player in the league, his workrate is second to none, even when he is having a bad da in front of goals he can find a way to contribute, Brown was deplorable on the weekend.
Also IMO you don't trade your captain for any deal, they are the sorts of things that can completely ruin a team's balance and chemistry...

Boty players to stay at both clubs.
Don't forget about that both players will be able to have big chunk of their salary go onto the Veterans list...which means that it will be easier to play and retain other players on your list.
If they both swapped clubs...bith clubs would have salary cap headaches.

I don't want Riewoldt to ever leave the club. Not for Brown, Judd, anyone. St Kilda should do everything in their power to make sure Riewoldt is a one club player.

I am not sure. Raph has the makings of a very good player and Brownie might be past his best. We should at least try that trade.saint edward wrote:ralphysaints35 wrote:one thing i would never swap roo for any one,
swap Raph Clarke, for him no worrys,
I dont think brisbane are that stupid to do that kind of trade, but yes i would definately make this trade from our end.

Brad Howard is a Queenslander - you do the math. We may have to throw in a 2nd rounder as well.
What a forward line next year!
Kosi 1 Brown 2 Riewoldt 3
Rix 4 Gehrig 5 Milne 6
1 changing in the ruck
2 holding firm, marking target on the 50 arc
3 leading up from 50
4 over on the side out of the way, he showed with his first kick that he can slot them from the boundary
5 playing deep
6 need a crumber/forward defensive pressure and someone to help Fraser engage with opposition cheer squads
I can see the headlines...
