first response is 'yes'-- will have alook in a bit
but even if he doesn't because he has a bad record he 'attracts' extra % every time he is charged-
players with no record get the 25% discount- players with a record attract something like 10% for every charge or week suspended.
time frame to 'wipe' the excess is 2 or 3 years,
which just about puts Bakes at retirement before he can afford to do anything but sneeze on the field at another player,
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/ ... 88,00.html
from this I would say he has 22.5 points hanging and then the % for having had a suspension.

.Henwood, as foreman, said the jury had decided on 722.5 points, which equated to the seven-game penalty.
It meant that the jury had assessed Baker's costly block in the third quarter as reckless conduct, high impact and high contact.
Baker's points were increased by 40 per cent for a two-match suspension last season and two matches served for separate charges in Round 6. And he carried over 127.5 from this year's offences of rough conduct against Carlton's Jordan Russell and for striking Marc Murphy
from this I would say he has 22.5 points hanging and then the % for having had a suspension.

geeez how would it feel to be Steven Baker...
the only player in the AFL who can run in a straight line, stop suddenly and get rubbed out for the same amount of time as Barry "Slugger" Hall.
Not a very comforting thought...
ne1 else get the feeling he can get reported at any given time for any stupid reason

It is amazing how whenever farces at the tribuneral Baker's name is brought up time and time again.
Who was that guy that got 7 weeks when a player ran into him again?
Who was that player that got done for an 'attempted' strike?
Who was that player that got done for kicking a player off him who was stomping his foot?
Who was the player that gos suspended twice in the same match for unbelieveably soft bumps that found a loophole in the system to the point that he had to have over 200 carry over points?
Oh yeah, that Baker bloke.
It has gotten beyond a joke, I was telling my mate how I am looking forward to Baker's return this week and his reply was "Baker? is he still playing?, I could have sworn he retired".
Now to bring out the true St.Kilda whinger in me, that joke of a decision could have quite possibly kept us out of the finals last year. Baker got suspended round 19 last year against Fremantle, the next week we played West Coast, Blake kept Cousins quiet for most of the first half however he was dead early in the second half due to the close attention he had gotten from other West Coast midfielders. If Baker was there he could have chipped in and helped keep Cousins quiet who single handedly killed us that match, we could have made the 8
How's that for a 'what if?"

from the AFL Tribunal rules 2007- no major changes in 2008 where there?
2.3 Simplification of loading for prior offences
The percentage weighting for prior suspensions will be simplified
as follows:
The maximum weighting a player can receive for prior suspensions in
the past three (3) AFL years will remain capped at 50%.
1 match 2 matches 3 matches 4 matches 5+ matches
Loading 10% 20% 30% 40% 50%

Lyon stated on "On The Couch" that he expects Baker to play against Port this week.
This is a welcome return.
As for the topic of weighting and carry over points, I'm amazed that carry over points ever disapear.
The biggest example of where this is not working is one Barry Hall of Sydney. 2005 he is charged with striking found guilty but is graded as 90 odd points, 2008 he is again charged with striking and he has a clean slate.
If I remember correctly he had priors going into the Maguire case that were disregarded on the basis of years past.
It should stay on your record full stop, no passing of time should clear it off.
