Based on these assumptions.

Out: King, Gilbert, Jones
In: Rix, Geary, Baker

Seems pretty straightforward, unless we want to bring Gehrig or Schneider back in. If Gards is fit, he will go in instead of Rix.

Assumed King would be out.

Rix rested from Casey.

Bad luck for Gilbo - was hoping the shoulder problem from Saturday night's game was only minor.

Baker IN is a plus.

Few options to be worked out here. It seems OUT King, Gilbert. IN Rix, Baker. Which you'd think leaves us a tall short. This scenario would have Rix and Blake ruck, Kozi forward. Alternatively, drop a small for Baker (perhaps Jones), bring in a tall for Gilbert (Fraser) and have Kosi go to the ruck with Blake playing more accountable down back. Option three is again drop the small for Baker, bring in Allen for Gilbert and rotate him down back and forward, leaving the ruck primarily to Rix and Blake for Kosi as pinch-hit.

Does ANYONE here have any idea a) how bad Kingy is and b) How long until Gardiner returns? I honestly think without at least one of these two this year it is going to be VERY difficult...

And this just when I thought we'd had a good round... % out of the top four, IMO Cats, Hawks and Dogs peaking far too early... St Kilda looking at a big 2nd half to the year...

Thanks for the heads up quigs - you'll only get a minor flaming if your info turns out to be porkies!

Shame for Gilbo.

I'd see it as OUT: King, Gilbert; IN: Rix, Baker

Leigh Fisher to move down back with Baker to a tagging role in midfield.

Rix, 1st ruck. Blake/Kosi 2nd ruck.

Personally I'd see Schnieder as replacement for CJ, so if he isn't fit, leave CJ in.

Still no place for the G-train.

Happy for a flaming. Only reporting what I was told.
Thought the news on Gilbo would have already been out there actually.

BTW he said that Dal was Ok and would play

LOL. as much as i agree (pref Chad to be smashed) we cant afford to lose bakes till round 20....hehehe

i can see fish playing loose in our defence and chad loose in theirs sometime in the match.
chucking the kid McEvoy in might be just what he needs......BANG!....the best duo in the league straight up, see how you go.
then again...... :?

Rix in is an obvious, given he was rested from Casey yesterday.
Bakes straight in another no-brainer.

Rix for King.
Bakes for Gilbert.

Would prefer to see G- Train in as when Kosi goes into the ruck, the forward line looks one dimensional. Not sure who to leave out for the train though.

It wasa in the press today...I forget which article that Gilbert had a shouler injury and was in doubt.

Rix we know did not -lay for Casey..was withdrawn.

And yes we know that King and Gardi both have problems.....I think the report was both would have scans and be re-assessed.

So the OP would seem to be confirmed the goss...though the operation and 6 weeks is new.

will go back and re-read it but it sounded like rix was rested for more personal reasons (asked to be rested) then being rested for next week.

Shame about gilbert but he was struggling. Not a nice injury to have, especially if he intends on becoming a KPP down the track.

We will struggle if one of gardiner or king don't come up :(

These reports were posted in the Casey Game string..

and..

I did hear from people behind me talking about why Rix was not out there don't know how accurate or close they are to being right but related to resting on request.
.
So I guess the question is was it Rix that requested to rest....or the Saints requesting him to be rested.

I was assuming the latter....???????????? that he wasa bit sore and so witha 6 day break they did not want to agravate things with King and Gardi both being in doubt???

Easy to presume that it is the 2nd scenario.

FWIW, as matrixcutter & spinner suggested, I too would be inclined to give McEvoy a game. No time like the present to give him a taste for it & he'd get learn off two pretty good opponents.

Sad to hear about Gilbert...we'll really miss him.
He was clutching at his shoulder all through the last quarter...sometimes
I wonder at the use of pain killers to keep playing. Especially with such a bad injury. Probably made it worse.

Ross Lyon will probably name him for a late withdrawal.

rix looks like a sure thing to come in
i think mcevoy needs more time in the 2nds.
jsut to get adjusted to bigger bodies.
imagine him come up against lade and brogan:|
his body would take a hammering.

as for gilbert.
he played a backman pushing up a bit.
if ross wants to bring in another defender for him
why not gwilt.
he has proven he can step in a do an ok job.
