Our Tackling
Thought we tackled the best i have seen for a long time,Lenny Hayes has always been our best in this department, but i thought as a team we were fantastic.
You can see that we have a fair bit of improvement, our foot skills are still poor but im sure we can turn that around.
Special mention to Milney, his defensive side of his game has improved leaps and bounds this year.

it's almost as if once linged for the second or third time the guys hold back from even attempting for fear of turning the ball over by a free.Saint Bev wrote:I actually thought our tackling against Geelong was fantastic, but the umpires slaughtered us in the second quarter and we seemed to be lost as to what to do.

I actually thought quite a few of our tackles against Geelong were 'broken' by their bigger/stronger bodies. The umpires didn't immediately reward teh tackler allowing the Geelong players time to 'break free'.Saint Bev wrote:I actually thought our tackling against Geelong was fantastic, but the umpires slaughtered us in the second quarter and we seemed to be lost as to what to do.
Against Essendon the tackles seemed to stick against their younger/weaker bodies and whilst we rarely got rewarded for the tackle it invariably created a stoppage.

Yes we did/are using him.
I read that the day before the nab cup grand final and then when we played the next day i was really looking hard at our tackling.
I think this is the same bloke that has been creditited with the infamous 'chicken wing tackle'
