"they get their game together."

Question just raised by Tim Lane over whether Geelong would go through unbeaten this year - very impressive in running over the swans in the last quarter.

I get the impression the football world has dropped off us - do some still rate us?

(followed up with "I know you think I'm an idiot" :D )

so I gather this headline was premature
Sydney set to upset Geelong

4:05pm | Adrian Ballantyne
SYDNEY are poised to upset premiership favourite Geelong, trailing by just 10 points at three-quarter time
.

they learnt about the Cats overdrive gear.

Wallsy helped select RL, got an axe to grind.

When I heard 3/4 time score Cats v Swans I thought maybe they are vulnerable.....THEN a 42 point win. That is impressive. That was the power team I dreamed we were going to be.

sydney were within 2 goals, kicking to reduce it to 1 and geelong kicked the last five goals in under 10 minutes.

Look so far none of the teams they have played as been able to hurt them in several areas. Right now they are finishing brilliantly and defending VERY well. But their midfield is being killed. They lose the centre clearances to a team like the hawks and they are gone. What we need to do before we meet them again is work on our skills and finishing. They are not that far away, the great teams of the past used to kill teams ALL over the ground. Currently they have a few players playing out of their skins. The fact that their half forwards and half backs are generating their run is not a good sign long term.

yet they got killed in the centre once again. Most of their run is created from half back. Yes ablett and bartel got alot but after that it slips right away. Plus you have to remember that ablett plays half forward.

centre clearance at one stage in the second term was 1-8 sydneys way, that on top of being killed in there last week does not bode well.
