bally and armo
now with ballys body fixing itself,
he played a great game up foward
and armo looks like a model image of bally.
hard tough nut, who gets the hard ball with hayes.
ball should stay foward for a bit
he adds SO MUCH foward pressure.

Interesting call about Ball in the forward line.
He played fantastic there last year against Hawthorn, Maybe with Armo in the lineup Ball can play a qtr or two a game there, should keep him fresh for midfield bursts, he knows how to kick a goal and would add some much needed defensive pressure.

Great game from Armo, especially when you consider how much time he spent on the ground (about 60%). Looks fitter and stronger than last year, got a few decent clearances and looked steady with the footy. Nice to see him kick 2 goals as well.
Bally i think has been improving each week, his work in the forward line was very handy and he actually kicked the ball 50m. His tackling cannot be ignored either, along with Lenny he's got the best tackle in the team.

Destiny. It's in our hands.

Armo is a gun - but I still feel his fitness is 12 months off from being in real devastating condition. Another solid pre-season next year & I reckon he will look even fresher with the ball (ie sprint away from opponents & kick longer). Exciting prospect indeed Tough bastards don't grow on trees either!

Since the retirement of Powell, Hamill & Thompson we have lacked a bit of hardness that Armo can provide for us. A nasty streak can go a long way with a bit of football talent. I noticed a few times that Dal was looking after the young bloke in his debut in the physical contests which was also very pleasing.savatage wrote:Exciting prospect indeed Tough bastards don't grow on trees either!

i posted somewhere the other day that the midfielders have to step up against the bombers and start kicking some goals.....that we needed more spread.
ball looked great up forward when he was there, and crumbed well bagging a couple.
armo just looks like he's gonna be a gun, had a great game and i look forward to the time when we see him chucked in the guts for good.
only thing that bothered me was the little sleep we had in the third quarter, a better team might have pressed on even more and caught us......lucky it was the bombers

Armo played a very good game last night. Was involved in a lot of the contests, and shows that he is a pretty good finisher as well. Ball's body seems to be on the improve as well, with a 50m shot for goal just being touched on the line. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have him play as a half forward more often, since his tackling will be valuable in creating and maintaining forward pressure.

I think they should both spend time rotating through the midfield and forward with Bally spending more time forward than Armo. Ball ha a nous for kicking goals provided he is within 30-40m and his tackling will be invaluable. Then, hopefully, Ball can gradually be intergrated into the midfield more often to play more time in there.

Ball ran out of options at one stage last night and I think for the first time this year, had to kick the ball long.
From just inside the 50m line it was touched right on the line.
A promising sign. And if as someone said above, he kicked the ball a little flatter, he would make 50m easily.

Win it for HIM!
