To Essendon supporters Watson is a champ...

To Saints supporters Watson is a dud.......

No surprise where his bias lies.....

The list changes for 2025 have begun, always an interesting time for an avid supporter.

A win by any margin would be great (as long as it isn't 23 points.)
So you'd rather lose the game than win by 23 points, just to spite your northern island colleague?

I don't blame you. 8-)

FWIW, a win by one point is acceptable. Even a loss is because Essendon is oour bogey side BIG TIME. but importantly, we must play well and give a four quarter effort. That's all I want to see.
Sorry, I thought I meant that a win would be great but by 23 points wouldn't be so great. I don't think I mentioned a loss. :?
If we win by 34 points I am going to buy myself a very strong pair of ear muffs   !!

anything short of that should be unacceptable

2 guys by the name of Mal Michael and Dustin Fletcer ain't to shabby in defence
Yep, and Bacardi Breezer is back at FF for them also, he'll be hard to stop.

Depends on what our expectations for the season are. If anyone still believes that we're a genuine shot at the top 4 then their expectation would be that we smash an undermanned Essendon side by 10+ goals.

However I would be content if we just play four quarters of attacking, clean footy (which would result in a win) and our young players stand up.

This is another danger game, just as the Footscray game was.

We lost to Essendon last year, and should have lost to them the year before. We no longer have the wood on them.

Essendon ran rings round Footscray for a full quarter a couple of weeks ago and would have gone on to win had they not run out of puff.

They have a few guys who are very quick, just the sort of opposition players that we can't cope with.

Any win tonight will be a good win.

PS Apologies for finishing a sentence with a preposition. I can't be bothered changing it!

Essendon are a dangerous side.

That said we should expect to win this game as any chance of top 4 relies on us winning these games.

1 point or 100 points it doesn't matter any win is acceptable tonight.

First and foremost we need to win, but we also need to play attacking football. If keep playing the crap football we've been playing then what's the point.
