TD ban on bringing in commercially prepared food....

Post: # 549560Post saintspremiers »

No doubt everyone has heard the above announcement before entering the Dome.

Commercially prepared food is not allowed to be taken inside Telstra Dome, you must consume it before entering type claptrap.

Well, provided your food is not wrapped in say Subway or Nando wrapping, if you get queried at the gate, just say you brought it from home.

If they DARE try and query you, say they have no right to inspect the contents of your food.....if they say it's a security issue, tell them to bugger off or say to get the police.

OR.....just do as I did last year, keep walking and ignore them!

I just can't see how they can prove that it's commercially prepared.

Say you like subway and that's how you make your rolls.

Say you like Nandos and that is how you fry your chicken!

They should....perhaps that would be a good argument....I reckon they could confiscate nearly everyone's food.

chips/soft drinks, you name it!

Come on Collo, lift your game!

Say if they sold decent food for a decent price there would be no issue... what a farce.

How is it legal to take food off you?

What do they do with the food then?

They've got no right to take your food. They might wear big red jackets but they aren't law enforcement.

Just another disgraceful act from Telstra Dome.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Legally, I would question weather they are even allowed to check bags.

This Friday....

HOLD UP A BAG OF SMITHS FOR FREEDOM. ;)

A few alert and angry fans wont change the rules, but a large group of fans can easily.

We got our pass outs back with out too much trouble, we can easily stop this nonsense... if we want to. All it would take is for fans to turn up ALL holding commercial food in their hands. The 5 pathetic guards at the turn styles wouldn't have a hope.

Ala pass outs... we need to send Collo a message.

I'll hold up a pack of Tim Tams as I enter.... we'll see if they try and stop me.

A simple bag if Smiths Chips would be enough to hold and protest.

Come on... who wants to do it?

BomberBlitz are also sick of Collo. They might like to join us this week I'll run it past them.

They are allowed to ask you to show the contents of your bag and of course they are allowed to refuse entry.

BUT if they touch your bag... well that is a massive NO NO.

At least subway outside do the rught thing by us and provide brown paper bags!! I had them try and take 2 cookies off me, as i was holding them seperate to the brown paper bag, the bloke says 'it clearly states on the conditions of entry, that no commercial food is to be brought in' mind you, it was in the smallest of small writing on a sign that ive never read or seen outside gate 3.
I also had soft drink cans, got told to go and dispose of them, so i just put them to the bottom of the esky and went back. The staff there are not aloud to touch any property of yours.

Just tell the clowns that your last name is not Packer nor Murdoch so you might have some trouble paying TD's prices ;)

As I've said before I no longer support AFL, its just st kilda now.

I must admit I do buy a box of hot chips when the kids are there as it does get cold, but by and large i bring about 10 tonnes of snackies to the football.

tbh if they confiscate my food, I'll just go home at this stage.

Actually, just bring empty packets of anything. Put paper inside a chip bag. A packet of dry biscuits is sold in a box - Rye Vita etc. Just hold up the empty box as you go thru and then give it to them.

Instead of us accepting Collo's rubbish, we give our rubbish to Collo. :)

Now that's an idea!!!

At the end of the day, they can do whatever they like to try and get us to buy their overpriced food.

The only way we can stop being overcharged is to stop buying it!!

If we don't buy it, they have 2 choices shut their food outlets down or lower their prices.

I reckon just bring in empty boxes (taped up or stuffed with paper) just as a protest.

If lots did this then they would have a huge waste disposal problem.

And , tell the gate Police you have just eaten "commercially prepared food " and wait a minute and I will vomit it up for you if I cant 'take' it into the ground !!!!!

Stupid rules deserve stupid responses .....we do not live in Stalinist Russia .

The next thing is home knitted scarves will be banned and only AFL merchandise allowed.

...and what the hell is "Commercially prepared food" anyway..really??

Can they stop you taking in "Commercially prepared drink"??? I bring a bottle of "Pumped" water most weeks and Ive been known to have it in my hand as I get my bag checked. Never a problem. They say that only "sealed" plastic drink bottles are allowed...yet the only way they can be "sealed" is if its commercially prepared!! If they want to protect the caterers inside what about the drinks they sell??

More holes in their logic than swiss cheese..but it seems that you cant take anything in that can be bought inside..hence the Subway/nando's obsession but why still let drinks in then????? lol

Next they'll be wanting a stat dec declaring that you made the food yourself at home

Oh...and what about the MCG??? Different caterering company as I recall...never heard this rule being talked about there.

Only water that has been personally passed by the management is allowed to be brought in.
