Just a usual rant on how come geelong supporters and booing Steven king and yelling out "Wayne King" its a disgrace. The club had salary cap issues and dished him off, he didnt leave on his our accord.
I was surrounded by a few geelong supporters, i didnt mind mouthing to them that they gave him up guys, get over it!!

Exactly right
Clueless idiots,,the bloke won them 2 premierships, Seniors and reserves, is forced out for youth, the Club do the right thing and help him find another Club...and thats the thanks he gets.
That premiership has affected a few of their brains I think

Exactly.
They delisted him.
It was their choice.
Their salary cap issues.
You can hardly blame him for taking up an offer to play on.
I don't ever remember our supporters booing Nicky when he wore a Dogs jumper.
Much as it was a very sad sight, and a horrible way to end his career.
And it did somewhat tarnish his memory.
But we never booed him.
Shame Geelong Shame

Ackland, Black Everitt and Hall all wanted out. King was pushed out, albeit with the Cats making the landing a bit softer for him by allowing a very sweet deal to usst_Trav_ofWA wrote:right like we dont boo guerra ackland black hall everit lappin waklinsaint66au wrote:Exactly right

Wow, quite surprising to hear all this animosity from the cats supporters, where I was sitting I was surrounded by them but they were all very well behaved, especially compared to the dogs last week... I guess sitting on the top level gives you some room from the real catty ferals

The media reported comment from the Geelong coach that King was "bitter at having been removed from the club" probably has King questioning why he ever played for a team coached by the coach Geelong currently have.
For an AFL coach to make such a comment after a match where King (a former Club captain and premiership player) has played against his former club only serves to inflame, and shows the distinct lack of class and grace the Geelong coach has.
Then again, when you have only survived as a football club because a major bank (Westpac) has written of $3Million of your debt as part of a deal to have you transfer your banking to elsewhere (Bendigo Bank), you get what you can afford.
Geelong are now about the very same capital expenditure programme which had them unable to meet their dues as and when they were payable (and replicating Carlton), spending up big on grandstands at a ground where they only attract 20,000 spectators 11 times a year!
And have any questions been asked about Ottens and how he came to be at Geelong?
Geelong, under this coach, who replicates Sheedy, play at the edges.
They ensure as far as possible that players are not re-involved in plays by putting players on the deck - and hurt.
So they do not just bounce back onto their feet to provide options.
St Kilda needs to learn from this.
St Kilda have to hit bodies when they are in proximity to the ball, and do sufficient damage to take that player out of the ability to provide an option.
M. Gardiner is our only genuine aggressive player capable of using his body to crash contests (until Maguire recovers - and now they have played him at AFL level he needs to continue to play at that level) - and he is sorely missed for what he has bought to the team - in only two games.
It will be interesting to see if Mooney's activities just before half time when he swung a punch (missed) and followed up with an atempt to kick (also missed) come under scrutiny or whether the fract that both attempts missed will save him for another day.
After Riewoldt goaled at the satrt of the 2nd quarter, we did not respond to Geelong reverting to a 4 man forward line - and putting players in positions to run to centre bounces - feed off and run at goal going around our "spare" defenders.
That tactic opended the flood gates for Geelong and St Kilda did not respond.
Geelong ultimately reverted to a 5 man attack, and St Kilda had done nothing except bleed morale sapping goals - and lost the lead never to regain it.

given that the said coach had barely played king for the majority of 2007 and really only bought him in because his back up ruckman was still young and raw - should have given Kingy a clue to how his coach felt about him.To the top wrote:The media reported comment from the Geelong coach that King was "bitter at having been removed from the club" probably has King questioning why he ever played for a team coached by the coach Geelong currently have.

I'm pretty sure they may have still won the flag last year even if Rix was in the ruck in the Grand Final.Clueless idiots,,the bloke won them 2 premierships, Seniors and reserves
Booing King was idiotic from the Geelong fans. I think it's fair enough to boo players if the player makes the decision himself to leave ( Everitt, Hall) but if it's the club that makes the call different story

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

This is true, for all their fast running and movement of the ball I believe it is their physical ferocity that really gives the cats their edge over the competition. To the top wrote:

The run hard and run straight too many times I saw our players pushed off the ball when holding good position, this spreads throughout both teams because it looks like one wants the ball more than the other!!

i dont bag players that leave.........each to their own and everyone has a reason.
although for some reason every time i see daniel kerr play for the west coast profanity flies out my mouth towards him at a rate of knots that would pass a bullet coming from a gun........why, i have no idea.
i just totally dont like him.
why on earth would geelong fans boo and abuse a former premiership ruckman, who played a great game in the GF?
do these morons realize it was the clubs decision, do they actually FOLLOW the club they apparently support, fair dinkum some fans are just total wankers with no brain and no knowledge about footy what-so-ever.
