Is the HS spamming this forum???

Ok...we have some new posters with lightweight and few posts...but with links to their HS blogs...

If they are true Saints fans and are interested in the SS site why don't they write their thoughts in the forum??

If they are just spamming at the behest of the HS (their employer????) perhaps they should be banned???

Are they genuine forumites.....or just HS lackies????

And why the need to push your blog straight up????

I mean according to you there is a whole world out there....so why here???

Still if your intent is to become a regular poster..or at least semi regular..then welcome.

But if the real intent of your joing SS was just to garner more hits to your blog....then spamming is why you came here.

So far..judging by you posts you have mainly come on twice.....once when you directly posted your blog link.....and today when you worked out you could put a link in your signature.

Still time will show if you area genuine poster....or just flogging your blog.

Because it is a blog for Saints supporters, and this is a forum for saints supporters. And I post comments on other threads... Just because I am not on here 24/7 doesn't make me less of a saints supporter.

Particularly when that link is to a Herald Sun site...whereas the Saints Sponsor is The Age.

There are blogs and blogs...

The HS blog was created by the HS to bring people to their site.

It is not a true blog started by someone who just wanted to write on something that they were passionate about or interested in...which to me is a true blog.

It is rather a blog where people who are driven by a commercial imperative sat around at a planning meeting dreaming up ways to generate more traffic to the HS site and they hit upon the idea of imitating blogs by inviting people to write a faux blog.

If the HS faux blogs don't generate enough hits just watch the HS scrap them.

Whereas a true blogger would just keep writing irrespective of their hit rate.

I am not questioning whether you are a saints supporter or not.

I am questioning whether your prime reason for coming on here was/is to

1/ discuss the saints on a saints forum?

or
2/ to garner attention for a commercially inspired faux blog?

If 2/..then that is spamming.....just like the guy that came on here recently seeking coments on his saints t-shirt designs. The fact that they were saints tshirts did not suddenly make it not spam.

He did not come on to discuss the Saints but rather to garner attention for his saints tshirts.

Welcome Miss Saints. Everyone can see that your link is to The Herald Sun. Not my cup of tea but I shahn't let that hinder my appreciation of your right to post your blog there.

My tip to you though is to be careful - yes the Herald Sun are giving you a good opportunity - if you're lucky you may get some interesting feedback and who knows some doors may open for you, especially if you are interested in a journalistic future. However, recognise the fact that the big media outlets don't really give that much of a crap about everyman/woman - it pays to be a little cynical IMO and make sure you are not used to push whatever their agenda is (presumably to sell more newspapers). the penny seems to have dropped at news ltd that newspapers are being smashed on football by internet boards such as this.

put simply if you want to know what is happening at moorabbin you're more likely to see it here first. they don't like it and are trying to lure their audience back.

Since she's writing this stuff as a supporter - not an expert or professional reporter - I'm not sure how her blog should made to be distinguished from any other poster?

I'm happy to have her stuff here, I just sort of think, well, you're a supporter like the rest of us, why not copy/paste it here, regardless of whether or not it's on the HS site?

That is it exactly. I would like to copy and paste on here, but I actually had to sign a contract at the beginning about stuff like that. I know the Age is a sponsor, but that doesn't limit anyone to ONLY reading the Age. And if you don't want to read the blog... don't! Really, debating this is pointless and doesn't achieve anything!
