I dont think its such a crazy idea to play Nick R @ CHB. The way he can read the game and set up attacks from strong marking across half-back sounds fairly exciting actually. His kicking accuracy in front of goal has nullified all the forward marks to a degree in the last couple of seasons. I think its worth a try (but perhaps NOT this week?! )

I have been saying for a while that Roo would be fantastic at CHB - imagine opposition backmen looking to come back into the corridor and having to contend with our Blonde Marking Machine. Just a second pause makes it all worth while. I still think he makes life tough for backmen when he plays forward - pity we cant have two of him - lol

let's face it, he'd be great in just about any key position, including ff.
personally i'd like to see him on centre wing (rather than chb) because i've no doubt he'd still kick plenty of goals from there running forward.
chb is just a little too far away.
i would like to see him away from chf for a while (give kosi a run there) because it would break down our unhealthy reliance on him and would teach our players there are other avenues to goal rather than always kick-it-to-the-big-blond-superstar.
our mids might even rediscover the art of kicking one themselves

If Roo was on the open market and his price tag allowed him to be taken by any of the other 15 clubs, how many would grab him?
IMZHO it would be all 15.
And where do you reckon all of those 15 clubs would play him?
CHF
This whole idea of moving the best CHF in the game to CHB (Brown/Pavlich play FF) is just sheer journalistic waffle.

I agree Mr. Magic.
Roo should never be played at CHB.
He is an attacking player that should not have to look after an opponent.
It would be a wasteif he had to play on J.Brown, Pavlich, Rocca, Hall, Tredrea, Mooney, Lucas etc. A waste.
Let other teams worry about Roo, not the other way around.

"When we get back on November 5 and walk through that door, we're getting on a bus together and we're going down the road to a premiership. You're either on the bus or you get run over," Roo at the B&F 2007
In 2012, I'm still on the bus.

Roo is one of the best forwards in the AFL. Why would he not play forward. The excuse is we kick it to him to often. Well thats because is the only tall forward moving. So now we want get rid of that option so that we have no options. Explain the logic in that. And he is not a onballer or wingman either because as good as he is for his height at ground level he is not as good as proper wingmen or onballers.

I still remember the day/night he towelled up Richo playing on a wing. He would present a nightmare for opposition coaches trying to match up on him. If only we 2 of him, or 3 even !!bigcarl wrote:let's face it, he'd be great in just about any key position, including ff.

would make it hard for our opponents to triple team all three of him, wouldn't itEastern wrote:I still remember the day/night he towelled up Richo playing on a wing.
