One thing about how we are playing, which we did last year as well, that is annoying the hell out of me is how we give up cheap and easy kicks in our forward half.
It is almost as if, and they probably are under instruction that when the opposition defence gets the ball we run away from them or zone off.
Might be good in theory, but it also means the defender is under no pressure and has all the time to find a target because we are too busy zoning and not manning up.
Our forwards have to be told and made accountable whenever the opposition has the ball to put pressure on them to force them to dispose of the ball quickly before they have time to find a team mate.
By doing this, they are more likely to miss their targets, or kick to a contest where we have a chance for a turnover and rebound the ball into a disorganised defence and score.
Maybe Nick and the boys need to watch vision of Hamill at his best when he wouldn't allow any easy kick to the opposition defence.
Has anyone else noticed this?
