How we should line up
Our game plan isnt working, our best players are in so why arent we winning, something has to be changed maybe the personall need to be moved around
B L Fisher, max, X Clarke
HB Goddard, S Fisher, Dal Santo
C Gram Hayes, Riewoldt
HF Schneider Gardiner Gilbert
F gehrig, Kosi Milne
R King, Ball, Joey
INT Blake geary Fiora, harvey
1, if you are going to have a tagger, make sure he wins the ball (cameron Ling)
2. Our forward line lacks totally, We are too Riewoldt conscious and Roo should be a wingman running into the 50 instead of out of it
3 Gilbert is a good option as a HF, he can run up to the wing and then kick it long into 50, he is also very fast on lead and is a likely type
4 Gram, get him off the back line, give him more freedom where he doesnt have to run 70 m to goal, just 20 m instead
5 C Gardiner, we saw in the practice matches that this guy can play well, he takes his defender out of the 50.. that leaves Kosi and Gehrig in there on their own
6 Dal Santo, He can run in from HBF to the middle at every centre bounce, a safer option that Gram with his kicking in the backline. he always gets his possesion backwards of centre square so he may as well be permanantly set up there
7 Schneider wants to be play in midfield, as a HFF he can do that, run his player away from the 50 so we only have 4 players in there at a time so there is more room for the bigger guys to run into some space
SAINTS, stop playing predictable footy, it gives me the s***s

i agree and think this is worth a try,Batnoe wrote:We are too Riewoldt conscious and Roo should be a wingman running into the 50 instead of out of it

perhaps on the other wing to riewoldt.Gram, get him off the back line, give him more freedom where he doesnt have to run 70 m to goal, just 20 m instead
i like your team but with a half-forward line of c. gardiner, kosi, gilbert. it looks a winner to me ... if we can get the ball down there.
wouldn't play fraser and kos on the same line.
Re: How we should line up
Rooy is our only tall mobile forward so he has to play there. I have seen nothing og Gilbert to suggest he would be a good forward. For a start he cannot kick so I dont see how he is the answer.bigcarl wrote:i agree and think this is worth a try,Batnoe wrote:We are too Riewoldt conscious and Roo should be a wingman running into the 50 instead of out of it

They kick it to him because he is the only one moving in the forward line. Kosi doesnt know how to play forward and G is to slow so they have no choice but to kick it to Rooy.bigcarl wrote:i agree. our greatest strength is also a glaring weakness, often exploited by opponents. our guys will keep kicking it to him even if he is being towelled up by a couple of opponents.Batnoe wrote:We are just too ROO reliant. we have to move him out

Frankly, i think our forward line would be much better without G. I don't think Kozzie is deadset hopeless as a forward, and he can take a contested mark, but at the very least will cause a spill.plugger66 wrote:They kick it to him because he is the only one moving in the forward line. I think him at FF, and Roo at CHF, with Milne, Schneids around is a much better setup.

Yes Gehrig is a complete waste. we should not have taken him back. when we are struggling against good teams he usually goes missing most of the game. There is no future playing him, go for youth Ross. I would place Dal on the forward flank as he will not play close enough to his man on the back line but would be very dangerous up forward. Kosi must lead more. Even though he was a great overhead mark Tony Lockett still would lead most times for us. Remember all the chest marks he use to take when on a lead.
HOW CAN YOU IDIOTS BAG GEHRIG!!!!
HE HAS ONE 2 COLMANS FOR US.
HALF THE TIME PLAYING INJURED.
when on song he IS the best foward going around.
no, he cant jump, no he cant take a pack mark like roo or kosi
THATS WHY WE NEED TO MAKE SPACE
he is quick, no doubt about it, last year, i read an interview about montagna i think it was
and he said gehrig was one of the fastest in 20 m sprints
he is a proven match winner.
kosi chf
roo on the wing jsut to try and free him up abit
always being triple teamed
