Changes for Next Week

Post: # 542135Post Wollongong_saint »

Maybe it's a bit extreme, but surely we could do with some big changes, get rid of some passengers, just to mix it up....how about:

Out:
-Raph
-Gilbert
-Geary (has been good but not much influence tonight)
-X (wouldn't hurt letting him know his spot's at risk)

In:
-M Gardiner (assuming he is fit)
-Birrs
-C. Gardiner
-Armitage

Just to provide some fresh players, change it up......we have the blessing of that oppurtunity at the moment.

These seem like fair changes to me, we've got to try something. I can see 4 or 5 losses coming in a row.

my changes

out:
blake, raph

in:
m.gardiner c.gardiner

charlie gardiner did everything right at beginning of year. we need a player to lead up when riewoldt gets double teamed. we also need some pace in attack for when we vs quick teams like the bulldogs.

okay now we agree...see im not an asshole

charlie will not attract the two defenders yet still play forward

roo can go on the ball or do something else for all i care...(emotion talking i know)

we need to get the third tall out of the forward line...its too busy...

Yes, of course, everything that went wrong tonight was primarily the responsibility of Raph (who played his guts out, and did heaps of good things: but I must have been watching a different game). Not to mention Fiora.

Just drop them and bring in some proven star quality players like Jones, Armo or even Dempster. That'll fix it for sure. It's all we were lacking.

Never mind about the crap coaching from RL and his team.

Let's not worry about the former star players like Dal, Gehrig, Kosi, Riewoldt, Harves and X who don't seem to be able to contribute under the current game plan. Let's not be bothered about our one time champion midfield which just doesn't seem to be able to put it together for three consecutive quarters, let alone four.

Just blame it all on Raph. It's all his fault. Just sack him from the club and we'll get 3 premierships in a row. Sack Fiora and we'll snare 5.

Simple, isn't it.

it worked well in the first quarter. after that we just couldn't get the ball down there.

i don't think the forward line was the problem. we were absolutely smashed in the clearances and in general play and our backline looked slow and brittle.

i can't remember us having a clean possessions anywhere after quarter time.

it hurts to say this but the dogs were awesome.

If you are not accountable your opposition is always going to look good. They still have the same issues as last year but we played into their hands by allowing it. Watch past game videos of Saints versus Bullies to see how its normally done.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Surely worth a try......at least it won't matter too much if a few get inured (which also seems to happen when we get hammered)

not the best of lineups however any team that coughs up a 100 point turnaround would go in under dogs

Sure, extreme measures have to be made......but taking Dal out......that seems like too much.

Ok it is a fair bet after seeing the insipid effort for the last 3 quarters tonight that we will lose to Girlong.

So with that in mind:
Outs: Blake (otherwise known as Wilson ie. your useless Wilson), Fiona (can't believe he is Not Butter), Raph (Can't make a decision on disposal), Gehrig (Will get toweled up by Scarlett so leave him out).

Ins: Armitage ( need Experience and might as well get it against the best Midfield), Jones (we are missing his determination and quickness), C.Gardiner (good foil for Roo), M.Gardiner (if fit just to give Kingy a chop out).

Wouldn't be against leaving Dal out just to send him a message that he actually has to look like he is trying to get the bal

That all that is required.

The team realise how bad they were. They will try to regroup. Making wholsale changes to the team composition is not the way to bring stability to the team and to reset the ground rules.

How can you leave Milne there. Slightest bit of pressure and he goes to butter. A frony runner only. Caught every time after the first quarter.

Fiora has got to go, I don't know how many times he gets pushed off a ball. Give Armitage a go at least if he stuffs up he will learn from his mistakes. Enough is enough.

Has to go for sure. He is our leading goalscorer. May as well drop Rooy as well.

Our midfield hasn't been champion since 04, and even then, it was our forward line winning us games.

We're an attacking team playing a defensive game.
