Memories of Kosi and X- 100 +

Post: # 539467Post saintbrat »

barring unfortunate circumstances Both Xavier and Kosi will play their 100th games this Friday Night

what are your memories of each of them.

jumper number changes- Stewie handing his 23 to an injured kosi on the ground
Burkey giving his to X and then next game he was so excited he forgot to put on his shorts- at Princess Park when we throttled the blues scoring enarly 100 points in each half.

he always ran out with his tracky bottoms on and was so excited about wering the yellow No. 3 that it wasn't till he stripped after the warm up that he realised- he had to borrow young Luke Ball's shorts as he was on the bench-

X had had a brilliant game during Burkey's last game.

thanks for that.
everything that sticks in me mind about kozi is not that great (injuries)
but i do picture him with absolutely no fear diving at everything to mark it.
X: i just love to see him run and take em on. plenty of memories of him doing that.

X going for flyers in his earlier days... hasn't done it much since he got a scare after one particular speccy attempt sent him off the ground.

I actually remember a family day when koz and roo were new comers, they spent the day together roaming free, no crazy fans harrassing them, how things have changed!

Unfortunately for most i remember Koz for his unbelievable bad luck with injuries, but there's a few strong pack marks that are positives in the memory bank

How good would it be if Stewie & Burkie were there to welcome Kosi & X on to the ground before the start of the game? !!

Beautiful stuff, I would actually think it will go down that way...

Hopefully the two of them can show us just how good they can be on their shared milestone...

they will be the 108th and 109th Saints to pass the 100 mark
passing Roy Cazaly on 99 and Aaron Hamill on 98

with Goose and BJ to also in line to pass those two this year.

Sitting with barks and Joffaboy....Watching Gia break Kosi's skull right in front of us....

We all saw it coming...We all uttered warnings...

BANG.

Kosi's injurys are obvious - even my cool, calm and collected mum was jumping around hurling abuse and everuytime she hears gia's name she has a very angry look.

Not so vivid but i can remember being at X's 50th game at the G against collingwood i think, and we registered a win over them and the scum cheersquad below us cracked it.

Also remember X's high flyers at the start of his career - they were great.

Also Raph's first game with us and seeing X really pleased about it.

Looked like he had the world at his feet...and if he stays injury free, I have no doubt his potential will be fufilled.

Same could be said for Kosi, really.

personally everton I think that x is playing his best football for his career. I would rather him be kicking bags of goals from the midfield, getting hard ball gets etc. then flying for speccies....

I remember a game at the dome in 2003 against Westcoast , and X was running riot on the forward line in the 1st quarter. He was snapping at goals from all angles. Unfortunately most of them missed , but with a bit of luck he could have had 3 or 4 at quarter time. I think he ended up with 3 for the match ,but with his ball handling skills , he was exciting to watch.
That match was also Leigh Fisher's first game.

my memory is of X in the game agains geelong(??? can remember) he was having an absolute flyer of a game laying tackles and giving hits and i remember thinking X looks like hes going for a BOG but then he got a heavy bump and left the feild and didnt come back for like 3 weeks i remember the cameras showing the dissapointment on his face as he sat on the sidlines again the bloke was so cut he wasnt able to stop the team being over run in that game ...

for Kosi it would have to be Bangers 350th that first half he owned subi oval until he got a knee to the thigh that casued him huge greif but he was determined to work through it to be part of the game

If I remember rightly it was a heritage round game late 2003. I will never fortget X going for a speccy in the goal square towards the end of the game. He was near horizontal when he got his hands to the ball and about six foot in the air. Just couldn't hang on. An Essendon mate who was there said "I can't believe what I just saw!" As for Kosi its that match against the Doggies in '05 (the first of his streak) at the 'G after Rooey went down with the shoulder.

Hopefully both these boys have another 150 plus games in front of them. If so I'm sure we haven't yet seen their best. Good luck fellas!

Memories of these two is their recklessness - a very courageous recklessness.

Two Saints who have always been 100% committed to the contest, sometimes to the detriment of their own health and well-being.

X is one of my personal Saints favourites, not just current but all time faves. Really good bloke and a person who goes out of his way to help others.

Good luck to both of them on their 100th and very fitting that these two would play it at the same time.

X would have to be close to leading our B&F this year. I've said it before, if he stays on the park all year it is LOOK OUT.

Unfortunately, my most vivid memory of Kosi is - as he was stretchered off after the Gia incident - him raising his arm to the Saints supporters, who were on their feet applauding, giving them the thumbs-up.

It's a toss of the coin between X and Lenny for me. Hudghton and L. Fisher won't be far behind either.
