Tough draw ahead ....
Round 3 - vs. Western Bulldogs who were on fire today and are full of confidence and enthusiasm after winning their first two. Looked terrific against Melbourne.
Round 4 - vs. Geelong ... enough said.
Round 5 - vs. Essendon who are the form team of the comp. We always seem to play them at the worst possible time (eg '05 and '07).
Round 6 - vs. Port Adelaide over there; they are our bogey side and grand finalists. Will be a tough encounter.
Huge next 4 matches coming up.

shape the season these three matches imo
Bulldogs think we need to bring a bit of pace back in (ie Jones) but our fowards should really trouble their back line as opposed to Carlton who height wise matched up well.
Geelong- will be as interesting as always, King vs Blake as a sideshow
Port- should really be tough.. both sides rebounding to attack.
if we are serious about the flag need to win 2

Not hard to be on fire against the Dees though We played average tonight against Carlton and still won by 40. Expect a great game against the Dogs. Probably close, but we should win. No excuses.Oh When the Saints wrote:Round 3 - vs. Western Bulldogs who were on fire today and are full of confidence and enthusiasm after winning their first two. Looked terrific against Melbourne.
Exactly. I'll be happy if we have a close game, and we should. Happy to lose to these guys in a tight contest, but we have a great chance to beat them. Watch King to have a big game against his old club, and Charlie too if he comes back, will add a lot of fuel to our fire. Plus if Geelong pay too much attention to King like they did against Charlie in the NAB, they will take their eyes of the footy which gives us the advantage. King will be out to prove a point and Geelong will want to play a phyiscal game against him to unsettle him. Have every confidence in King to keep his cool and take adavantage of their rough tactics.Round 4 - vs. Geelong ... enough said.
Definatly possible, but need to be at our best, which we are not just yet.
Been average against Port the last few years and need to stand up. We have the talent to win, we just need to be in form. G-Train and Milne need to bag a couple each for us to win. Should be a tight oneRound 5 - vs. Port Adelaide over there; they are our bogey side and grand finalists. Will be a tough encounter.

we have to lift our game for the next month
right now we will get the s*** kicked out of us against geelong, essendon and port, so we need to lift, and lift alot i think dropping a few players and maybe swapping possitions will help fix this,

We will beat bulldogs by 35 points IMO...
Geelong will obviously be the tough one, I can't see us beating them on current form, we would need a huge list.
Essendon have been shown for what they really are today, a team in the rebuilding process, we will win that game quite easily.
With Port you never know, this could be our year, we have been quite good at Aami recently (off the top of my head, feel free to prove me wrong statisticians )

I'm confused, we are scared of 2 teams that got done by nearly 100 points each today?
Should be a great month of football. No reason to think we can't win 3 to 4 of them and push hard for a top four spot.
Two top 4 teams playing each other this coming friday, should be a blockbuster.

Absolutely. This year will be exactly like 2004, we'll win the first 10.aussierules0k wrote:We'll smash all 3.

We should be able to beat the Bulldogs and the Bombers and even if we lose to both Port and Geelong we'd be 4-2 which is a relatively good position. Today, suggests that everyone was a bit quick to jump on the Bomber's bandwagon but they'll be by no means easy to beat. We seem to have the wood over the Bulldogs and the running games of the Bulldogs and Essendon will be harder to play under decent pressure. So, if we bea both of them we'll be in a good decision no matter what happens with Geelong and Port and then maybe we could get a win out of those two.
