Next week
If at a minimum Goddard comes in next week
who goes out?
it's very difficult
maybe gilbert?
then you have the added issue of;
Goose- still think he'll be a couple weeks off
Jones- missed his fwd pressure at times
Gardiner- allows mobile target without becoming top heavy
Armo- Showed form when played
and someone everyone has forgotten when mentioning how hard it is to pick our team...
after rnd 6 Baker.
I personally want 2 of Goddard, Jones and Gardiner back in the team
and 2 of
Gilbert, Fisher, Raph (hopefully not him), Blake (again hope not)
I expect to be the unlucky ones to make way.

We desperately need the pace and run in our side.
BJ isn't the most pacy or agile player, so IMO we can't drop a runner for him.
Koschitzke, Raph, Fiora, Blake and Gilbert are all in line to be dropped.

My guess would be Geary, Raph and Blake. Maybe Gilbert, been dissapointing so far. Would also like to see C Gard, Jones and Goddard back in ASAP. Geary has been pretty good I admit, but I think the above players have earned their spot. Geary is young and we can afford to cut him and let him develop in the seconds. I'm sure he will come into our 22 with the retirements we will inevitably have over the next 2 years.

so what about
jones and goddard in
gilbert and geary out?
jones a bit more pace and a bit more inside than geary
goddard to add more skill to the gilbert roll..
like both gilbert and geary.. but think the rest could do them some good anyway, allow them to focus on improving their game with less pressure and have them coming into the team with injuries or just putting pressure on those in the team.

No need to state the obvious. I do not think Ralphy claimed to be a better player than Raph, he seems to think that Jones, Goddard and Gardiner are though.LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:Raph is better then u ever will beralphysaints35 wrote:what aboutjames rose wrote:so what about

Brilliant Point:
Has anyone seen Raph enthusiastically command/call for the ball? I think he dreads the pressure situations where it might be a tough contest. He doesn't look to be enjoying the game, and seems to be relieved when he manages to dispose of the ball without costing the team too much.
This is all from a spectator's point of view, anyone else agree with this impression?
Agree 100%, that's exactly why he gets the amount of games he does. Hopefully RL does everything he can to keep him in the team for exactly that reason.widereceiver wrote:Blake gets absolutely the most out of his ability. You can't say that about everyone else in the side tonight.

Methinks that is why Raph has struggled the past couple of years (aside from the injuries). He honestly looks terrible at times, but really smacks of someone who is down on confidence. Somehow, I'm still confident that by years end he will be a very different player than he is now. He has quite a deal of upside to his game, but nevertheless it's a nice dilemma that we have. The other side is that we have so many poor disposers that we are debating. Prob highlights the importance of BJ.
We are a sniff
much better side without jones.
he's a top up player at best.
birss would be in before jones.
birss maybe slower but he hits his targets more often than not.
and goddard has the ability to split the lines with his booming kicks.
hbf to HFF and a leading reiwoldt over the midfield.
jones running off the HBF the ball may go anywhere.
again with goddard coming back not expecting miracles but still.
Blake had a solid game.

I think only one change should be made.
Goddard in and either R Clarke or Gilbert out.
both had bad games tonight. Gilbert looks very out of sorts but it's nothing that a run in the 2nds can't fix.
Raph looks very low on confidence so dropping him will do more bad than good.
So out of the two i would be more inclined to drop gilbert.
