Go the Leachster!!!!!
Did anyone else hear the "discussion" between Francis Leach and Eddie Mc Guire on SEN last night? To hear two "broady boys" going at each other hammer and tongs did me old heart good!!!
Just like a satdee night at the old "Willow Bank" in Anfield!!!
I was trying to peel the spuds for tea and keep from "doing a Fev" in me kitchen from laughin!!!
It was good to hear Frankie stand up to Eddie (who started with the cheap shots rather than answer the queations) Proud to be a Sainter I was!!!!

Go the Leachster!!!!!
It was about Collingwoods "offer" to play some games on the Gold Coast in order to "help the comp" (??!!??) Francis Leach wanted to know why it was that NONE of these would be Collingwood home games!!!!
Eddie got shirty at the cheek of Francis questioning anything concerning Collingwood and of course resorted to snide comments.
If you're near a radio I believe its being replayed on Mark Dorans show today

It was good radio. Eddie arrogance seemed quite aghast that someone would actually question him on his motives!!
Well done to Francis for putting him through the ringer a bit - usually he gets pandered to far to much by the media.

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

I heard most of it.
I missed the end though because I had to go out.
It was great hearing Francis fight back , and not just taking the crap from Eddie.
How did it end up?
I think Archie should put an offer to the AFL too , for StKilda "giving up" some away games to play in the Gold Coast.
We could play the following matches in the Gold Coast:
Rd 6 Port Adelaide vs StKilda
Rd 9 Brisbane Lions vs StKilda (should attract many locals)
Rd12 Sydney vs StKilda (Gold Coast get a taste of a different style of Football)
Rd14 Kangaroos vs StKilda (Gold Coast get to see they missed out on)
Rd 17 Collingwood vs StKilda (unfortunately we give up an MCG match , but that is part of the sacrifice we are making, and Eddie still gets his wish of seeing his beloved pies contribute to the Gold Coast expansion)
Rd19 Westcoast vs StKilda (battle for a top 4 spot )

for the good of the game we'll all have to give a little and go up to the coast to promote- BUT don't expect Collingwood to give up any home games,

I think they should, though.saintbrat wrote:for the good of the game we'll all have to give a little and go up to the coast to promote- BUT don't expect Collingwood to give up any home games,
Its all very well and good to offer to promote the game in other markets, but it is pure arrogance to think you can get away with that without being willing to give up any home games and assuming other clubs will be happy to give away thiers.
As if teams with "fortress" home grounds like West Coast and teams that struggle to draw away from home already like Port and Freo are going to agree to give up precious home game so Collingwood dosen't have to travel to more than 1 interstate venue.
If Eddie wants to promote the game, let them play neutral interstate home games like the rest of us. There are 16 teams in this league, not just 1.
