That kid was my son I was horrified and I complained to the club, my son was just mimicking him.. My son is now 24 and still barricks for the saints!!!!ttufc7 wrote:He was a very angry mascot from what I remember!
I once saw him after some unwanted attention from an obnoxious kid pick the kid up by the front of the shirt and throw him back into his seat then proceed to give the kid an absolute mouthfull!
And has to be restrained from belting the mascot each time he goes to the footy.jk23 wrote:That kid was my son I was horrified and I complained to the club, my son was just mimicking him.. His mask still had the CFC imprint on it - that confirmed he wasn't real, as hitherto, I was still pondering.st_nick wrote:Yep, you remember correctly. The original "Angry Man" mascot we saw at Waverley was a guy who used to be a member of the Haloes coterie group.
The club never had their own mascot and this bloke had his own suit made and proceeded to do the job free of charge and at his own cost. The suit ended up getting a bit run down and knocked about. Due to a lack of financial support from the club he ended up just ditching the idea. I imagine that somewher there is a beat up old mascot at the back of some garage in suburban Melbourne.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."
