And his 3 year deal would make him contracted to us until end of 2011, which would seem to take him out of teh equation for teh mooted new team in West Sydney - starting 2011.milney044 wrote:2 down..about 15 to go...

Great news- glad to see both signed up early in the year
at 28 the 3 years will just about take Lenny to end of career as he will be 31 by then and I would think on year by year after that
Joey is only is only 25 this year- so 2 years makes him 27 and then renewal
others close
PS- I hadn't read this when I wrote the above.

http://news.realfooty.com.au/saints-res ... -21g6.htmlSome contracts remained to be settled in 2008 but chief executive Archie Fraser was confident half-backs Jason Gram and Brendon Goddard and midfielder Xavier Clarke would also re-sign.

http://sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/ ... quad-45473Hayes said this latest contract may well prove to be his swansong given he will be near 32 by the time it ends.
"I am rapt to sign up until the end of 2011," he said.
"I have been involved with the club almost 10 years and this contract will almost see me out at the club."
"I still think I have got a lot of footy ahead of me but when I do come out of this contract I will be on the veteran list and when you get to that stage it becomes a year to year thing."

What pleases me the most about Lenny is that he would have no doubt been disappointed in not being named at least co-captain & may have also entertained the idea of going to the new Sydney team, but has instead signed this far out from the end of his contract in an obvious indication that he believes this team is going places.
