His defensive work was back to its usual low standards to, poor overhead slipping over in contest and having tackles broken. Then people on here bag Raph and leave Gram alone look at the game not the player.

I actually thought Gram improved his defensive work quite a bit last night, I saw him with a few spoils...
Speaking of defensive pressure, how good was Monty??!?! I counted like 6 smothers!!
As for Raph the reason why he cops so much is because unlike Gram he doesn't have the offensive skills to compensate for his lack of defensive...

O'Keeffe (very good player) gave him a hard time.

Incredibly pleased the emo look has bitten the dust - now re-issue the player badge, Saints.

Maybe it wasn't an award winning performance from Grammy last night, but there weren't too many glaring mistakes, unlike a few I could mention.

I'll agree, he was far from his best.

One of the worst games I've seen him play.

Hardly touched it and O'Keefe destroyed him. Shouldn't have been on him IMO, but that doesn't matter.

Shocker from Gram. Needs to lift and improve from that performance considerably.

agreed...

An absolute crap game from him IMO...

A game where we need run to break the lines he was not there and I know O'Keefe destroyed him.......

He really is not a back man arse as he has very little defencive know how IMO

His talent is to run and break the lines and kick to position...

He did do neither IMO he didn't run and break the lines and his kicking was crap...

Lets hope that is the worst game he plays for the season IMO

If he does not run the lines he is flowered...

I think you're wrong there. O'Keefe wasn't that good and Gram wasn't that bad. Set up a couple of chances. I don't think anyone dominated that game

13 kicks
5 handballs
5 tackles
9 marks

some of those marks were contested couple of goal assists.

Yeah Gram had a good one and O'Keefe WASN'T THAT GOOD...

IMHO, I still believe Gram's ideal position is on the wing, where he can be far more damaging and I do not think he is ideally suited to being played down back.

read it again. I wrote Gram wasn't that bad, certainly not as shocking as your post. Go and take some happy pills and sleep on it.

Yeah agreed...

he is not a backman and playing him there will hurt us in the future...

O'Keefe was probably in the top 4 or 5 on the ground and for someone to suggest that he was not that good just astounds me...

Sam Fisher is a better player in running off the backline and still be capable of being a very good backman...

Gram is not a backman...

not his fault he is positioned there but he cannot defend

Understatement of the year!

He was crap, and stop your one side view of just one player FFS

Crap here me CRAP...

He got beaten hands down and at least 80% of his disposal led to turn overs...

Now come back when you really think you are in the REAL world

What game were you watching? Obviously a different games to the staticians, who penned him in for
78% effective possessions
Perhaps you need to make a choice between the red and blue pills.

Yeah righto....

78% of his 9 disposals were effective

3 of those were effective handballs

and please don't get personal about my medication

I fail to see how such a rude response is necessary. We DO all barrack for the same team fid.

I happen to think that lots of things about our performance last night were "CRAP" but I'm not pre-disposed to singling one or two players out and giving them a good bollocking (unlike plenty of our supporters in here do :!: )

We won last night, so what if it was ugly, it was the 1st game of the year & we had a win - bloddy beauty!
