Leigh Fisher!

Post: # 534963Post Dal_Santos_Gal »

Leigh Fisher deserves his own thread tonight !!

I know he didn't get much of the ball, but he didn't need to as he did a great job in keeping Goodes quiet.
Fisher won the contest 8 touchs to 7, a great job seeing we don't have our number one tagger in Baker.
It ended up being a a great inclusion considering blake was a late withdrawl.

I thoroughly agree DSG.

I don't think he'll be left out of the first 22 again in a hurry!! :) :)

His kicking impressed me tonight, know he didn't get that much of it, but almost the best game he has played for mine.

Fabulous game tonight.

Sammy Hammil gave him 2 votes on MMM (he gave Max the 3)

Leigh was good tonight. Not alot of footy, but was punishing when he got it. Definatly worthy of a spot in our 22. Great to see a thread on this. Why alot of people bag him is beyond me.

We are pumping up his tyres just yet, but the guy deverses credit for the effort he put in. Does not matter if goodes does not start the season off well normally. Fisher was given a job to do and executed it beautifully IMO.

Goodes had his worst game possession wise since 2004 according to MMM, so all credit to Leigh

Exactly. Swans might as well have been a playing a man down. Top job Leigh.

I'd almost have Leigh as BOG. He stopped Goodes, then when Buchanan was running amok, he moved onto him and shut him down too, which was when Goodes got a bit more of the footy.

Well done Leigh. I'll admit I doubted him and wasn't too phased by him not making the team. He proved me wrong tonight, sensational game on Goodes.

Great performance by Fish on Goodes tonight, rendering him useless. Has shown that he is equally adept as a run with player as he is as a defender.

The ever-wise channel 10 suggest it was a trump card. Was the plan all along. Not sure why exactly Ross would want to do that, but according to the sources, Fish knew he was in the team early on.

yeah i heard them suggest that too....why on earth u would do that i dunno.
maybe they really thought that the swans would be totally planning for Blake and by doing this it might throw them totally outta whack.

if thats the case, i guess it worked cause goodes did f*** all
o'laughlan did nothing as well

Fish was great.... Often unfairly maligned around here by some, but he showed tonight he is a first 22 player.. has added a new string to his bow, and tonight was his coming of age as a run-with player..
