Help me settle a bet???
I have a mate who is adamant that in '04 after we beat the Cats in the Wizard Cup final we played them the very next week in the round 1 match. I am 99% certain that there was then, as there is now, a week off between pre-season and first round of the real stuff. Can anyone verify this for me - I have done a little searching on the net but I can't find dates. I'm talking about the sort of bloke that will need solid proof - not just the word of a fellow forumite (or 50).
It should be said that there is only a beer riding on this (after all he was equally adamant that Rob Eddy is on the senior list). I don't want to hit him too hard.

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/game ... 40327.htmlWhen St Kilda took the 2004 Wizard Cup by defeating Geelong on March 14 it was the next logical step for Grant Thomas and his squad of young superstars.
Round 1, Docklands, 27-Mar-2004
