Another post about hits and bumps prompted me to go on youtube to look up Robbie Muir....
which led to the inevitable Saints searches, which led to the great champs of our team and the magnificent youtube tributes to the Great Man - and the memories of what a freak this man Robert Harvey is and what amazing memories he will afford me, my kids and friends and all Saints supporters.
Which led me to realise that if we don't make the finals this year my son and I will not be here for his last game (O/S).
If we don't make it past the first week of the finals we won't be here.
If we don't make it past the second week of the finals we won't be here.
Third week of the finals we're here.
But let's not stop there.
Made me really sad to think I've been there for some of our greatest retirements but there is a possibility I will miss my favorite Saints player of all time play his last game.
My young bloke knows I am going to shed a tear when the Great Man runs out for his last match - and/or farewells his final crowd - but we just realised we HAVE to make 2008 finals and win this damned thing, not just for Harves but for all of us who have followed this freakish footballer throughout his incredible career.
Okay I'm emotional.
But just watch the youtube vids on Harves and you will see where I'm coming from......
Can we please win for Harves and me...

I know how you feel though...although I was shattered enough with our loss to Melb in the 06 Elim...thinking that I'd just seen the Great Man's last game (courtesy of a very ill timed incorrect rumour that spread around the SMS grapevine..NO offence to the poster here who was just as sucked in as I lol) just hurt like hell. Not seeing it at all would have hurt 100 times more

yes i too (im sure evyone does) get very emotional at the end of every season and i just hope like hell we make it to that last daof september and win it for harves because he bloddy deserves it.
btw did you see the harvey video set to hallalujah always brings tear to my eyes seein the vison of harvey sinking to the aami stadium turf after the 2004 prelim final against the power.
i truly belive that harves thought that that was the year and he was devistated for the whole off/preseason.
btw saints66au i too shed a tear at the 06 dees game and i was thinkuing this is harves last game and when they ran out i saw in the top corner of the banner ROVBERT HARVEY so and so games and i thought if the cheer squad dont know then hes gonna be back and i smiled the whole night until the end
