anyone on here collect footy records at all?
i was wondering if anyone on here is into collecting old footy records, i am a hawks man myself with a very large collection over the last 40 years, and a few of my mates also collect records, but i don't know of anybody who collects st kilda records, so if anyone on here is a record collector, let me know, i'd love to hear about your collection, what you are looking for etc.
cheers

i dont collect from every game...but i do from all the interstate games i go to.
every time i have bought a record for a saints game in melbourne in the H&A season we have lost, so i only buy interstate!

i sell records at non-saints games, and the amount of people that buy them is pretty funny. i rate them very low, just a book with the same crap in them every week except the middle page! i think you could say about 1/6 of a crowd would buy records, but at the finals about 1/3 would buy, and come GF day im sure just under 1/2 the crowd buys, and especially if there is an interstate team playing because the fans go home and take records back to their sons etc.....for the cats v port GF a lady and her friendbought 17 records off me, presants for family and friends back in adelaide, and dont ask me what $15x17 equils!Oh When the Saints wrote:They are too expensive now. Not worth buying anymore IMO. Would be fascinated to see sales data from the last decade for the Footy Record.

1966 record
I have the 1966 Grand Final Record. My Dad, who was at the game kept it and gave it to me a few years ago. Not that I would ever part with it but I wonder what it would be worth.
I hope to match it with a 2008 GF record.

well ten times = $150
+ 5 times = 75
+ 2 times = 30
so that would be $255?
but I'm guessing in the rush before a game even thats too hard to work out.

I've got about 600 going back to 1970.
Great to flick through the old ones and read the articles.
Agree the modern ones are a rip-off.
The first ones I bought were 5 cents.
They were only half A4 size (is that A5?) and only about 40 pages.
But they were more interesting and practical than the glossy overpriced collection of advertising that you get today.

yeah i love flicking through them and reading the articles such as player of the week and reading the upcoming events in the club notes section.
but i disagree when you guys say there overpriced think about it there $3.50 and thats a weekly rap up of the whole afl, there a momento and its got the club list in them. think aboiut it INSIDE FOOTBALL is almost twice as much and if you buy the record there is alot about your team in it.
