Yes indeed. A totally deserved honour for Nick R. If some of the other players at the club put in 50% of his effort, we'd win 22 home and away games and all our finals.

May he take us all the way in 2008!!

A shame the captain is just biding his time before he becomes the Gold Coast franchise player in 2010 or 2011.

Who gives Reiwoldt any chance of being a one club player?

Should have given it to Lenny.

If that be the case Joff - then I can settle for him lifting the cup in 2008 and/or 2009!

I'm loving this - underdogs at 3 to 1, grand final experience in our favor and Pies over confident. Go Saints - I'm loading up!

If he does that, I'll help him pack and give him a lift to the airport - with my blessing :D :D :D

I wanted Lenny to have it. Rooey's too hollywood, concerned with high profile girlfriends and his pretty bleach blonde hair. Not that this really has too much bearing on his ability to captain an AFL team... It's just Lenny is more serious and gamefaced. Seems to have more focus.

But congrats to Rooey anyway. Best of luck and lead us to glory!

Good choice.

Lenny is our blue-collar leader.
But Roo is the "chosen-one".

Believe Nick will be a 1 club player - he's had the great man as an example!!!! For both their sakes ( & ours ) hope this is THE year! Was talking to Ken Whiffen the trainer shortly after the Roo shoulder incident in Brisbane - Ken was still seething but added that this was one of the finest young men he's ever seen at the club!!! Great praise from a club icon! GO SAINTERS, GO NICK - DO IT FOR HARVES - DO IT FOR YOURSELVES - DO IT FOR US , your long suffering, loyal fans!!!

2008 St Kilda Leadership Team:
Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes, Leigh Montagna, Justin Koschitzke, Sam Fisher, Nick Dal Santo and Luke Ball.

I see Goose didn't make it - taking another year to get fit and playing every game- Harves has stood aside again to enjoy . Good work Sam and Leigh to be chosen.

and much better than lloydy's

Tall guys in front short; guys at rear; but the premiership capt looks like they forgot to leave him enough space.
