Ticker tape

Post: # 529587Post chook23 »

Ticker tape?

Think that is what it is.

I found the ticker tape really annoying.

Could not see a clear vision of players with the cup.........

(way too much of it)

Plus pics in paper etc not clear because of all the crap..........

anyone else notice the machines were still spewing it out after players moved....

This practice has only begun in the last few years................

Thoughts of others

They definately went over the top to say the least. You only have to look at the pictures in the paper. However, it added a nice touch, just way too much of it. And the machines were churing them out for ages. I the coverage they cut to shot behind the dias a while after the presentations and they were still flowing out.

Heard on 774 that after the game the cleaners were attempting to pick up the ticker tape by brushing it onto shovels and emptying them into bins,
They were speculating how many weeks it was going to take !

I don't think there is a football fan in the country who likes that stupid form of 'celebration' after grand finals. Scrap it now for god's sake.

i thought it was awesome!
and yeah, there was still paper flying around when the players came to the cheer squad  yes they had to much of it, but its better than not enough! and yes, we could hardly see the saints players celebrating with the cup, but its better harldy being able to see the crows players celebrating with the cup!

There's no complaining right after a Grand Final win, but it would be nice to be able to have a poster of the team celebrating rather than a blur of bits of paper.

for the sptember GF they have 2 celebrations with the cup. one on the stage where the paper is attacking them and then they go onto the grass about 20m away and get photos with noting but them and the cup.

just a quick question...but what would people think about ross lyons children being in the team photos if we won a GF? because Paul Roos had his 2 or 3 sons in the team celebration photos after they won in 06.

I would have thought that in this age of eco-friendliness, carbon footprints and the rest, that spewing God knows how much non-recyclable paper all over the ground wasnt very PC lol...hopefully they use recyled paper to make the stuff.

AS far as compromising a team photo goes..I'd much rather that then being forced to don sponsor''s caps like the '96 night GF team

I really like the ticker tape, I think the colours sort of sum up the moment, that this team is the Champion and are covered in proverbial glory.

A good innovation since it was brought in in 2005.
