Saintsational medal..it's time!

One for one of the mods to get up and running. It's been talked about for the last couple of seasons but nothing ever happens.

I think we should have a voting system for each game,that is tallied up for the saintsational best and fairest award in a sticky thread.

Each game,vote 5 to 1....5 for best on ground,etc. At the end of the votes tally them up and the top 5 are given votes 5 down to 1.

For example,after all the votes are tallied after a game...
Round one- Rewoildt 54 votes, Hayes 36,Ball 25, Harvey 21,Gram 17,Fisher 14,Montagna 6

So in this instance the final votes for the round would be-
5- Rewoildt
4-Hayes
3-Ball
2-Harvey
1-Gram

Does that make sense?

What do you think?
I think it would be a great thing to do,an award voted by the fans.

Great idea, very similar to the one they do on the Saints board on BigFooty.

I would be happy to run it, and follow the system you have proposed.

So let's establish the sainsational.com Medal for St Kilda's best player, as adjudged by the fans.

Anyone got any suggestions before I formalise the rules etc. and make a post about it?

OWTS....What do you think the chances are of organising a night to present the medal to it's winner at the end of the year????

That would be fantastic as we are the biggest St Kilda support group....i'm sure they know about us!!!!

When voting no giving players half a vote,or two players one vote each,etc, like some do,simple one player for each vote 5 to 1.

Maybe have voting close by a certain time each week,monday night or something?

This one keeps getting raised.
Bit like the idea about producing "Saintsational" caps.

Great ideas, but nothing ever seems to happen !

The player sponsorship happened Enrico.

The forum banner will be changed.

New rules have been implemented.

The forum software has been upgraded, and will continue to be upgraded.

Spam bots were stopped.

And the saintsational medal will happen ....

We do make some progress

Robert Harvey should have a Medal named in his honour...and not some lame idea provided by the AFL. I vote the Saintsational Medal be named after the Saintsational man himself...Robert Harvey.

Sounds good, could we have an actual medal named if we all put in a few bucks (wouldn't be that expensive, I think) and present it, like what the Collingwood forum does/did?

Hell, I'll even pay for it all myself if this idea flies, as long as I get to present it.

Its quite possible that the Club may well use the great mans name in some sort of award. "Best Clubman" perhaps? ..so much as I love the idea of a medal named after him..perhaps it may be a bit confusing down the track.

Perhaps better to keep it at just the "Saintsational Player of the Year" or similar
