Ross lyon- Ch ten news- by reporter just after as part of discussion on the wather.

Ps I would be more than happy for the reports to be incorrect

the smiley was for the 'expected ' DSG so many were telling us it was going to happen.

pps - very nice positional team sheet that came in my e-mail today

i would rathe leave max out if there is even the slightest doubt on him he should be rested cause playing him now would be a waste we need him up and fireing for the majority of the year and if that means taking longer for injurys so be it

Yeah I also got the team sheet in my email today. Each players name and photo in position. It was a nice touch. The club is really doing those little things really well this year.

Also from that news report - half time extended by 5 mins as a concession to the expected heat.

No change to the 16 interchanges per quarter - Ross didn't seem unduly concerned by this. Mentioned words to the effect that they had been training in hot weather over the summer and they had experts available to tell them how best to handle the players in these conditions.

St Kilda will go into the match without key defender Max Hudghton, who was included in the initial 30 but is not yet fully recovered from the leg (most likely hamstring) complaint he picked up a fortnight ago

Crows, Saints fired up for NAB Cup final
March 7, 2008 - 6:16PM

Adelaide and St Kilda agree they would both dearly like to win Saturday night's AFL pre-season cup grand final at AAMI Stadium.

But both put greater importance on their preparations for the premiership season.

Saints coach Ross Lyon said he would continue to rely on the interchange movements mapped out weeks ago, while counterpart Neil Craig said his players were programmed to win while also swallowing a considerable degree of experimentation.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Lyon seemed more than happy to be playing Adelaide away from home tomorrow night because that's what's in store in round one - Sydney.

"Clearly it's a magnificent finish to the pre-season, a high pressure game that's just going to finish off our preparation nicely going into round one," Lyon said.

"I'm not sure if you can extrapolate our future out of what's happened with other clubs, but some clubs have gone on and had success.

"We're rapt to be finishing the pre-season on this note, win or lose."

St Kilda will go into the match without key defender Max Hudghton, who was included in the initial 30 but is not yet fully recovered from the leg (most likely hamstring) complaint he picked up a fortnight ago.

Captain Justin Koschitske meanwhile said he would not be deviating from a strict plan to play three quarters of his pre-season matches, despite his clear standing as the most dominant tall on either side.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Neither side seemed overly perturbed by temperatures forecast to still be touching 37C by the time the first bounce occurs at 6.50pm CDT."

Italics comment- I would assume is the reporter NOT knowing where the first game is being played.
