I knew their membership department had an issue. Didn't know it had spread to the football department.

Would have been an interesting scenario had Hawthorn won.

Presumably now with two days to go they would have had to annul Hawthorns score to that point, reversing the result, re-organising a practise match for Hawthorn, switch the Final venue from Docklands to Fooball Park, re-organise the TV etc.

If nothing else it is a wakeup call to our interchange steward.

For four minutes I can understand for maybe 1 minute but they would've known on the bench pretty quickly, but yet it took them four minutes?

Match referee knew about it so It would've changed the result before now, it's just taken this long to get to the media.

Quite embarrassing considering Fraser was penalised several years ago for "cutting the corner" of the interchange boundary as he was coming off the ground during a H & A match & couldn't come back on for 10 mins. or so.

Not necessarily, IMHO it would have been Sirengate all over again, with the I/S team again winning out, no doubt.

Would have been upset if I'd bought a ticket for the game at TD only to not get to use if by virtue of the result being changed. IIRC tix were about $30 in 2004, likley to be more now.

Yes favouring interstate teams again. Sydney, Paul Roos this week?

Correct because I want the AFL to get better to beat Soccer so that we continue growing otherwise we will be overtaken by that game. At the moment it is growing and yes they make mistakes but as long as we continue getting record crowds and money for TV rights we can continue to pay the players more so they dont go to soccer or even cricket.

I admire your positivity Plugger66 but it dos become at little tiresome when key issues (social issues and football issue) are mishandled. Consistency is important, and it seems to be lacking all too often.

I too want to see AFL thrive, but I don't attribute crowds, gate receipts or TV rights figures to solid management by the AFL. AFL is the peoples game, the people who turn up to see their team, and they want a level playing field. The AFL has a responsbility to commercialise itself and make money, but it also has a responsibility to the people. Footy is more than a business it is part of the social fabric. A level playing field is a must and it doesnt always seem that way. But...perhaps it never was.

Well there will never be a level playing field unless we play every side twice and that cannot happen unless the we go to 12 sides and then everyone would hate the AFL even more and under AD they said they would never force mergers again. Or we play 30 games and the players will not agree to that.

Playing 30 games would stop all thwe winging about sides getting a dream run with the draw and as much as people winge about that the AFl are only trying to do what is requested by clubs.
